Awesome and Extremely Cost Effective
So I have read a lot of negative reviews on this product, and I will admit that yes, not all of the loops are the most vibrant colors, and yes, not all of them fit onto the loom; but due to the quirky colors I have been able to make very rustic and aesthetic potholders that other potholder loops just won't allow you to make. As well, they are extremely more cost effective than other loops and are 100% cotton, unlike some loops that are for recreation but don't allow you to actually use the potholders that you make because they can't be exposed to heat without melting. Therefore, I have been a loyal customer for years and will continue coming back to these loops for my potholder business. If you are interested in purchasing handmade potholders, check out my Instagram account, @claires_crafts_and_potholders

Not good
These are terrible. Not worth any money. They don’t stretch and look terrible when completed. Do not purchase.

A Whole Lot of Cotton-Blend Loops, But Lacking Many Ways in Quality
PROS:~~Large amount (1 pound) of cotton-blend loops per bag~~~~Good for young ones to practice their weaving skills (after removing the unusable/bad loops from assortment)~~~~Even though the quality is not very good, I'd still choose irregular cotton-blend loops over nylon loops~~~~Cost-effective for quantity, even including the unusable loops~~CONS:~~Quality is really lacking, there are several unusable loops in the assortment due to such things as: wrong loop size/too big/too small), too many loose strings, too thick/too thin, inconsistent coloring or incomplete loops~~~~My bag had several pieces of fuzz/lint/small unidentifiable debris~~~~My bag had more whitish/off white loops than colors, (could tea-stain them for a vintage look)~~~~Many of the loops have other stray colors running through them~~All in all, if you are looking for loops that are suitable for gift-giving, or to leave sitting out in your kitchen, you will not likely find enough good loops in this bag to make many very pretty or consistent-looking pot holders from these loops. However, after weighing the pros and cons I listed, if you are looking for a large quantity of loops to practice with before spending a lot of money on better (and more expensive) loop quality/colors, or just want to make more potholders for the joy of it, this might possibly be a viable option for you. Be prepared to dump out the loops and sort through what is usable and what is not, along with picking out pieces of debris. I certainly didn't expect top-quality or even "seconds" quality, but the debris included in my particular bag may prevent me personally from buying this again.

childhood favorite, still excellent
The potholder deluxe loom I ordered from Harrisville is an excellent craft item. The loops are all the correct size and are cotton with beautiful bright colors I was excited to see this as I have been disappointed with the loops refill kit I bought at Joanns Fabric/craft store. The loom itself is metal, like the one I remember from childhood, and I am enjoying again making potholders as gifts - I made one during the recent SuperBowl game and gave it to the hostess. I have started my two grandaughters and they love it when we work together (we are ages 5, 7, and 71) Thank you for a good product, made in America.

Like the loops but HATE Wool Novelty customer service!
It is true that some of the loops are a little small to fit on the loom but if you stretch them ALL of them but a few will stretch long enough to fit on the loom. Sometimes you have to put a little muscle to the loop to get it long enough to go on the loom but it will work on just about all of them so that they will fit on the loom. I've been using them for years and years and they work great. The only down I can give them is that they are hard to find bags of them with just one color or a bag of them with just the mixed pastel colors which I know they offer but nobody seems to sell them. I've tried to call the company about this but can't get threw to them and I don't leave messages on machines!! I also know they offer crafting ideas that you can use the loops for but again when I've called the company nobody was home but the machine!! I sure hope Wool Novelty reads this cause they are proably losing ALOT of business over it!!!

Best loops for the best potholders!!
These are the best loops ever! When I was a kid 30 years ago, I used to make potholders with these things. I still have and use one of them and my mother still has two, which she also uses and loves! My daughter is ten and has a weaving loom, but the kit came with nylon loops, which do not work well for keeping a hot pan from burning your fingers. Ouch. We were so happy to see that these cotton loops were available and looking forward to getting some more of our favorite potholders made!!

Only half (if that) are usable
I only liked the price but you get what you pay for. Ugly remnants of socks are left on many of them. A big portion were unusable due to no stretch and too small for my 7" loom. I cannot recommend these loops!!

NO JOY!
I'm sorry to say that this was the worst bag of this company's loops I have ever gotten. Many are too short to fit the loom despite stretching them to their utmost limit. Some have spots where the weave doesn't meet completely making for an extremely thin area that will break. Some, (too many) after being stretched to fit the loom, are so thin and tight it makes the weaving process difficult and the results are uneven and, frankly, ugly. In past times I've enjoyed weaving the small traditional potholders from these loops. The results were a little rough but that was always part of the charm. Also, despite the several inevitable outcasts, I could enjoy weaving quite a few holders from one large bag. Not the case with this lot. The process has been difficult, under-productive, and not enjoyable at all. I certainly would not subject a young person to the laborious process and dissatisfaction of working with these loops. It would definitely be a creative buzz-kill.
