EXCELLENT HD RADIO WITH LOTS OF FEATURES!
This is the most powerful head unit available without spending way more money. Every other head unit I checked out (Sony, Alpine, Pioneer, etc.) was rated at 14 watts RMS; Kenwood's is rated at 22 watts RMS, over 50% more power! JVC's units are also rated at 22 watts RMS, but their HD units are more expensive. I am pushing two JBL Power Series 662's and a pair of Infinity Reference (all 6 1/4" two ways) and the sound is great. Most people will tell you that in order to get any real bass with these speakers you need an amp. Wrong! The key to getting the most sound for your buck is two fold; apply a fair amount of clean power into speakers that are extremely efficient. In this case, both the JBL's and Infinit's are rated at 93 decibels S/N, which means that they are capable of turning smaller amounts of clean power (input) into more volume (output), something very noticeable within the small confines of a car. I also like the fact that this radio has a C/D player, aux inputs, usb input, Pandora, IHeart, 18 HD FM and 6 HD AM presets, along with a tremendous amount of sound adjustments to insure perfect acoustics. They even thought to add a separate set of sound adjustments for a sub-woofer should you get one at a later date. When you add in the fact that you can set the color of the dash display to match factory settings, or you can just let it change colors at random, as well as set your CD, mp3, or usb music to shuffle randomly, this is one impressive unit. The only complaint I have read is that the clock display is too small. Really? I bought it for the sound, so the clock display is a non-factor for me. Check this unit out and you will be pleasantly surprised. Just remember to match it up with efficient speakers and enjoy the ride!

Receives HD from 98 miles away . . .
I bought it after reading the review by "Matt" stating that it is sensitive and uses DSP so it can operate where older analog tuners can't. And pleased to see that it works as advertised! Pulls in a FM station, KUSC @ 91.5Mhz that is 98 miles from my house, with ZERO noise and receive using the HD [digital] mode. Has a setup feature that let you tailor the sound to your "speakers" as well as color preference.I should say that this FM tuner is mounted in my garage so I can listen to some "good" sounds when I want to do so. And even pop in a CD if I need be.For the money, it's hard to beat. Easy five (5) stars!

Functions are easy to use
I gave it 4 stars because i have only have had it for a short time. Functions are easy to use, crisp sound, love the color changing feature so that u can set it to any color you want.I don't understand why people are complaining about the light being to dim?? You can change how bright it is and besides that i think its plenty bright. I live in Arizona so if your in a bright hot sunny state and your also concerned about this DON'T BE, the brightness is fine, and adjustable. Also the clock, i think it's fine... when you have the radio turned on or your using IPhone or Pandora, its small and in the right hand corner. But all radio's do this.. The only thing is u can't change it to ONLY show the clock WHILE USING radio, pandora or your IPhone. But who wants that anyway? If your not using the radio u can put it to just show clock or turn it off. I think it makes since but whatever, can't please everyone. So far no complaints at all. If it continues too hold up and preform well, i will change to 5 stars!

Excellent Value
. I noticed the heading didn't say stereo. CD comes out in stereo and MP 3 does too. I connected the wires which is color coded. Amazon sells the correct plug in for your vehicle . The unit doesn't really need a subwoofer but if you have bigger speakers you might. I own a 93 Camry which has small speakers up front and 6/9 in the rear. The sound is rich and full. The different colors to choose for the display are great The time display is small but that doesn't bother me. Easy instructions to understand. I'm really impressed by Kenwood. I've had other makes but I'm sticking to this brand.

Don't do business with them.
I ordered one of these to replace the one that finally died after 8 years. Was sent wrong item, which I returned.Reordered only to get an identical wrong item, so it will soon be on its way back too.

This is my first HD radio and the fidelity is amazing to me
I am very impressed after 2 weeks of playing music and listening to NPR news during my 45-minute commute to work. This is my first HD radio and the fidelity is amazing to me. My favorite songs sound new to me again. :-)NOTE: Installed in 1998 Toyota pickup. I purchased one adapter to fit my vehicle connectors and another connector to fit my radio - my son helped me solder the wires between adapters together for a good connection but, of course, crimping can be used too. Buying 2 adapters like this allowed as to avoid cutting any wires on the vehicle side. If I ever decide to upgrade my radio, I can simply reuse the new adapters and will not need to solder again.

sounds good. Not a good choice if the clock is ...
It does the job, sounds good. Not a good choice if the clock is of importance to you (as it was to me)-the clock display is only 1/4" high and hard to read in daylight. I cannot comprehend why you have so many options to display titles, names, tracks, folders, etc....but a large clock display is not an option. Instead, it is displayed in tiny font below the main display.User guide is unclear and confusing, but I managed to set a custom color. Unfortunately, every time I start the vehicle, the color changes until it reaches my programmed color-NOT the look I wanted when I set a color that matched the dash lights. I think the user interface is confusing in general, but I suppose I will get used to it. Afraid I will NOT get used to the micro clock display :-(
