My autofill box was installed somewhat high, so the float would likely point toward 7 o'clock when full. Would this still work?

You can adjust the orientation of the arm at the pivot screw near the valve. Doing this can place the float at various angles to raise when the water reaches the desired level.

I was thinking of using a water leveler (rather than a timer) while on vacation for my pool. Does this hook up to a standard water hose with the water valve always turned on and how is the leveler placed into the pool? Thanks!

I agree with Justin that you could rig something up to keep your pool filled. Depending on the type of pool you have, it could be as easy as clamping a reducer/adapter to the side of your pool, attaching the garden hose to one side, and the float to the other. This is a very nice leveler - the best I have used. You could probably get one of the cheaper ones (sub $15) if it is only temporary.

I have this unit and it began leaking after a few short months. Is there a replacement cartridge with rubber washer I can purchase?

Take out the small plunger and clean off the rubber washer scrap it a bit. Take out the rubber washer and use fine sandpaper and lightly sand it Should stop the leak

Standard 3/8" pipe thread. I used a galvanized bell (1/2" to 3/8") reducer since my current piping was 1/2". Great product and very reliable. Good Luck!
