I gave this charger 5 stars even though it is a little slower than some other chargers and doesn't support quite as many battery types. That being said, it does what it says it'll do and does it well and SAFELY. I bought the charger with the wall adapter included but I like the fact that you can charge via USB (computer) as well. The unit has built in protection from over-charging the battery so it's safe to use overnight. Two independent charging slots with LCD readout for each slot. The feature I like most is the ability to detect the mAh capacity of fully drained batteries. So many battery sellers claim high mAh capacities but in reality most don't match those claims. The charger displays how many mAh it adds when charging. Of course if the battery is only half drained, it will only tell you how many mAh the charger has added. In theory, you will need to fully drain the battery to determine the actual mAh rating of the battery. Highly recommended for Li-on batteries which can explode if over charged.on a side note; when buying batteries, I recommend staying with well known brands to avoid disappointment.

Arrived in perfect, flawless condition. Product works like a charm, and the quality is great. Everything that is to be expected by XTAR! Very handy charger that gives you a lot more information and has many more fetures than regular chargers. 10/10 would buy again!

Handles all my battery types - 18650, 20700, & 21700. The LCD screen details everything you could possibly want to know about the charging status & battery capacity/condition. Highly recommend the VC2 for your charging needs!

My boyfriend bought this to recharge a bigger battery that is made up of many smaller batteries. The battery was not working and reading dead. This battery charger charged them all fully and fixed his broke battery. He is so happy it worked well and charged them all fairly quick. Works as it was supposed to.

Only used it a couple of times since i got it, but this is the nicest battery charger i've come by that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Its nice to have the information on what the charge level is and what the battery is actually capable of. Looks nice feels solid, well constructed, and comes with a little pouch to keep it in when travelling with it. Definitely recommend this.

It concerns me that when trying to charge two brand new #18650 Lithium Ion 3.7V batteries that the screen erratically blinks rapidly and shakily not like it's a feature, but like the screen is going to go out. I don't think the EdisonBright USB 5V supply is up to snuff for that kind of current/voltage combo. A bad or inadequately sized power-supply is likely the problem because when I removed one of the batteries, the charger continued to charge the other but the screen quit acting up like all was well again.... I don't totally trust this charger. Keeping it on a glass plate just in case it does some weird melt-down maneuver or what have you.. I thought I'd give this one a try because of the low cost and functional information displayed and charge program characteristics which would seem like its a high quality charger, but I think based on initial indications, purchasing a better more expensively engineered charger for your Lithium Ion batteries is advised. May revise this review with more information later.** UPDATE JANUAY 2020 **. Today I looked down and say the plug prongs from this device’s USB charging brick sitting nakedly in the outlet slot holes, exposing 120V to above surface height. I had narrlwly almost stepped on this earlier. Would have been a shocking thing to find no doubt. Come to find out the plug’s two metal teeth were donated fom the USB charger brick that comes with this package. The device in question bares the name Edison Bright on it. The prongs apparently pull straight out from the USB adaptor. It only takes one good wack and the charging brick can fo flying sans teeth. This charger brick baes a CE mark on it, but that’s a lie . Thoe plug prongs would have been required to be soldered in—not just merely socketed in place. The company needs to be punished for selling such standards-violating hardware and for having the nerve to self-certify that it passes all the CE mark requirements when clearly, it does not!

If you are in the market for a Li-on charger, and you probably wouldn't be reading this if you weren't, XTAR makes some of the very best. I have been using an XTAR VP4 charger (it has 4 bays instead of 2) for the past few months and have been very impressed with the quality and features it offers. When I needed a slightly smaller charger for travel I again turned to XTAR and settled on their VC2 "smart charger" and it has proven itself to be every bit as good as the larger brother VP4. Given the nature of Li-on batteries and their capacity to explode and/or burst into flames, spending a few dollars more for a quality charger should be a no-brainer. Highly recommended.
