Mixed 30 Hot Pepper Mix Seeds 16 Varieties Heirloom Non-GMO Capsicum annuum

- Got 50+ seeds - They all come mixed in one package, but that should be expected, since that is how it is advertised. :P - Also got a free bag of mixed basil seeds. Started indoors near the end of Feb. Planted probably about 10-15 pepper seeds. Wish I planted more to see a better mix, but lacked the space. (There are more peppers not pictured, I think only 2 did not make it) For sure I have at least 3 varieties maybe 4. Got 3 different kinds of basil growing from the bonus packet. New to gardening. I think it is a good deal compared to buying one packet with one type at the store for $4+. This gives me a cheap but "fun" way to grow more. In the future if I want a certain type I won't buy a grab bag of seeds, lol. I can't wait to see what I get in the upcoming months. So far good experience, I would buy again in the future if I want another grab bag of seeds. Update: Added photos from July of some of the peppers that grew. Edit: 11-25-2023 Bought another packet in Feb 2023. They did fantastic this time around. I started them inside again, but this time I had a grow light! Peppers take a long time to get going, I feel like you stare at dirt for an extra 2+ weeks compared to other plants. I felt like none of them were going to make it, but with some time I ended up with around 20 plants. I added 2 more pictures to show 2023 plants. Also side note the image with the tomatoes are from their mix bag of tomato seeds, lol. Also also, I over wintered one plant from last year's crop and I am still collecting the last bit of peppers from it, it is almost December.

This company sent all the hot pepper seeds in one package so you could not tell which was which. In addition, not one seed sprouted. I’m not happy with this purchase and would not buy from them again.

Every year I try to really focus on one type of vegetable. 2024 is the year of the hot pepper. I ordered this mix in February specifically for the scotch bonnets and decided to just grow the rest. The packet said 30 seeds and when I germinated the seeds, it was more like 55. I generally soak seeds for 24° before planting and then plant in the coconut husks pod things (gotta protect the bogs!). They germinate very slowly but I got a 97% germination rate using a heat mat and honestly, repurposed plastic take out containers, removing heat and the cover once they germinate. I had almost given up on quite a few of them but waited another 5 days was enough. Research on the varieties indicates that some can take almost a month to germinate. I gave plenty of plants away to other adventurous folks who like hot peppers but kept about 30, most planted in pots or 5 gallon buckets. I will try to over winter those in a greenhouse (zone 5a) or in my house if I can get away with it. The only real trouble I’ve had is figuring out which plant is which variety so I know when they should be harvested. Oddly, I don’t really eat hot peppers so I’m taking pictures and asking people who eat them (and will ultimately receive them). I just like to make Jamaican food and the shops here don’t sell scotch bonnets. They are a mix. This is clearly indicated on the package and product description. Repeatedly and in bold letters. And it is grab bag style. This is also clearly and repeatedly stated. I would definitely order again, both the product and from this supplier

So these are still a month from heading to my garden... and I'll amend the review over the summer. But so far, very impressed. I actually had to come back here to remember 'what' seeds are in the mix. But with that done, figured I'd drop an initial review. First, seeds arrived fast and well-packed. No damage, crushed seeds, etc. They all looked healthy and 'germination-ready.' Package indicates 94 percent germination. Well, ok. Started in trays and recycled K-Cups (remove the filters, despite what the Interwebs say.). K-Cups Cleaned well. I planted direct in rooting soil, and if anything, I got some a little deep. My bad. These REALLY want to be 1/4" or less. Peppers are not deep sprouters. And was very careful to keep in a room that was over 80 degrees all the time. First plants sprouted within a week. They were still sprouting about 4 weeks later as the 'slow germinators' came out. That fits with the package instructions. I can't say I got 94 percent germination BUT... they package says 35 seeds +- and you get easily double that number. So I probably got 140 percent germination base on what I paid for. The sprouts are nice and healthy. And I have no idea what's what. But it is a mix! Going to be fun to see what shows up on the plants. Overall, very pleased and can't wait to see how hot they are when they start appearing later this summer. Can't wait to post a 'how they taste' review!

Bad product would not recommend it to anyone.

I am taking personal responsibility and not returning as the description did say a mix of pepper seeds. That said, as a real estate agent, I feel that is the same thing as a seller disclosing that there is little water in basement during heaving rains and then there is an inch or more and not just during heavy rains. No way to determine which seeds are which and I was under impression that there was a mix of hot peppers, but would be separate. Doubt I will use these seeds as I am really only interested in Jalapeno and I am not going to take up an entire area to grow a bunch of pepper types I have no interest in. Disappointed, but they can't say they didn't say is was a mix of hot peppers. They should really clarify saying a mix of pepper seeds in same package with no way of telling apart.

I don't know what it is with buying seeds on Amazon, but I will never do it again. Even using different sellers I get the same quality - TERRIBLE. I am an experienced grower knowledgeable about variations in seed morphology as well as ways to encourage germination. You could say its not my first day. But I suspect about 50% of my seeds were immature because they were much smaller and malformed compared to the rest of the seeds. Yes I know there are multiple varieties, but I marked the malformed ones and not a single one of those germinated. Of the 'normal' looking ones, only 25% of those (or about 12.5% of total) actually germinated. Terrible results for vegetable seeds, I get better rates from my rare and endangered plant seeds I grow! I will never buy seeds from this seller again.
