Wow this is heavy, nice color, good quality great size but very heavy, more than I expected. I think it will last forever, it's really well made.

So far...two thumbs up!
Based on some of the reviews I was a little hesitant to order this Puricon 5.5 Quart Enameled Cast Iron Dutch Oven, but I gritted my teeth and bit the bullet. I guess I was one of the fortunate ones. I received my Dutch Oven in perfect condition and I love it! I realize that Le Creuset is the Crème de la Crème, but their cost for a Dutch Oven that I would use only occasionally is prohibitive. The Puricon Dutch Oven serves my purposes perfectly, is waaaaay more affordable, and the best news...I can lift it. It's really heavy but not so heavy that I cannot manage to cook with it and, more importantly...wash it after I've used it! I pray that I never drop the pan or the lid on my glass stove top...that would not be pretty! The directions state not to clean it in the dishwasher so fortunately, the 5.5 qt size I purchased fits just fine in my manufactured home sink (which is slightly smaller than normal sinks.) The inside of the Dutch Oven cleans up really easily, which was a surprise to me! It's a learning curve to use it on my electric stove, but I'm getting there. And for now...I can feel confident in recommending this Puricon Dutch Oven. If there are any changes to my review...I'll add an edit! So far...two thumbs up!

Love it
I’ve had this a few weeks now. I have used the pot for searing lamb, soups, baking bread, deep frying. I have a glass top stove so I’m gentle with the pot because it’s heavy. I have had no issues so far I’ve seen other complain about. Some food had gotten stuck so since I don’t (or shouldn’t) use abrasive cleaners, I soaked the pot in water that night. I didn’t want to risk seeing what others complained about peeling. Used a sponge and it was good as new. I was worried about the complaints I saw regarding breaking in the oven too: I baked bread (with parchment paper inside) at 450 degrees, 40 min, with preheating the Dutch oven without the lid for 15 min- No issues!I use silicone hand mitts to handle the pot and lid. For storage, since I have the beautiful red colored one, I leave it on the counter. But when I have a full counter then I store it with the other pots/pans etc, but by itself (not stacked like I usually do).

A whole new cooking experience
Bought for my husband, who often cooks for our household. He loves using it and it's inspired him to try a lot of different foods. He also has found ways to prepare old recipes in tasty new ways. The Dutch oven is very heavy--it is cast iron, after all--and not easy to wash, though I'm not sorry I bought it. Things like tomato stains are particularly hard to remove from the interior. However, I found some helpful advice when I googled how to clean it. I also got him a cookbook with good recipes and hints for successful Dutch oven cooking.

Great!
Yep. It’s heavy. 10.6 pounds. But it’s cast iron. Heavy equals good. Retains heat, heats evenly. Great for low, slow cooking. Can’t beat the price. Hope it lasts.Shipper must have seen the “arrived damaged” reviews. This one came surrounded by three boxes.Made a gumbo tonight. This pot cleaned up so much easier that non enameled cast iron. Really great for browning the sausage and caramelizing the onion.Could not resist adding a dried arbol chili with seeds for some heat.

Perfect
The size and weight is just right for easy handling on the stove top or in the oven. The handles are sturdy. Glad we got The 5.5 quart.
