Quality, Great Price, Great backup
Amazing how light these Hard Drives are now. Seems to work great. The Windows registration software on the drive works nicely, and takes you to the product support page where Seagate has good software to download for doing an image backup of your system or for checking the drive. Simple, one cable, no power cord needed, works great. Not a speed champion, but quite fine for storage and backup.

Plenty of Storage in a Simple, Portable Package
Plenty of Storage in a Simple, Portable PackageI’ve been using the Seagate Portable 4TB drive for a while now, and it has quickly become one of my most reliable tools for storage. What struck me first was how little effort it takes to get started. Out of the box, it was literally plug-and-play—no drivers, no setup hassles. Just connect it to my laptop and it was instantly recognized. The 4TB capacity is perfect for what I need—backups of my work files, a growing photo/video library, and a good chunk of media for travel. It’s a compact little drive that fits easily in a bag or even a jacket pocket, and because it doesn’t need external power, I can carry it around and use it anywhere without worrying about an outlet.Transfer speeds over USB 3.0 are solid for an HDD. I wouldn’t use it for constant video editing or heavy real-time tasks, but for moving large folders, streaming media, or doing weekly backups, it’s been smooth and dependable. It runs quietly and doesn’t heat up noticeably, even during long transfers. One thing to keep in mind: like all mechanical hard drives, it’s not built for drops or rough handling. I keep mine in a padded pouch when traveling just to be safe.Bottom line: If you want a straightforward, reliable, and high-capacity external hard drive at a fair price, this 4TB Seagate is hard to beat. It’s simple, portable, and does its job exactly as promised.

great value for price
Got the 28tb version , works as expected for an external HDD, handling large transfers with ease, and breezing through smaller file transfers without a hitch. The enclosure is sleek and compact, feels like is of good qualitySetup was quick and easy, everything came in the boxThe drive can get a bit noisy when it starts up but that's not much of a problemIts a really great value for the price

Reliable with lots of storage
Perfect backup for my computer. Works perfectly right out of the box. Just plug in and go. Fast transfer speeds, compact, and plenty of space for backups. Great value for price.

Incredible Storage for an Incredible Value... WITH A CATCH!
The 24TB version of this drive is incredible value for the money in 2025 at the time I write this. Heck, I'm considering buying another one! They're slightly cheaper than Seagate's own 24TB bare drives, so these are a good shucking candidate as well. Writes large files at roughly 230 MB/s on a good day, so about as fast as you could hope for a hard drive to be.A WORD OF WARNING: Such good bang for your buck storage DOES come at a cost... Wakeup time! This is the first hard drive I've owned where the time it takes to wake up from standby became extremely noticeable and annoying. By default Windows will probably want to put this drive to sleep when you don't do any file operations for like 5 minutes. I actually had to go into my Power Plan settings and extend the hard drive sleep timer out to like 30 minutes, because when this drive spins down, and you click on it, you can expect it to take a good 30-45 seconds before anything starts happening, during which time File Explorer will be completely hung. I even made the mistake of leaving this drive plugged into my PC when I powered it down, the next time I turned it on it sat at the BIOS boot logo for the entire 45 seconds, waiting to enumerate the drive before proceeding with booting from my NVMe drive! So I have to make sure to unplug it when I'm not using it. This is fine for me, since I'm mainly using it to offload DVD and Blu-ray ISOs and MKV files dumped from them, but if you want this to be a daily workhorse you'd better ensure it's set up to never spin down or you will get very impatient with it.

Good price range and healthy disk so far
So far, this hard drive is doing well. Took a bit to transfer around 5tb of info and it works in a pretty decent speed for meing a 7,500 standard hd.No clicking sounds, app shows a good healthy disk. Let's see in a few weeks if the behavior holds.

KPOP STANS! THIS IS A CONCERT GO-ER MUST HAVE!
This has been a life saver, like literally. Since I'm constantly going to KPOP concerts, it was only a matter of time before I ran out of storage on my phone AND laptop, and now my videos are saved on this hard drive and it doesn't lessen the quality of the footage either! Videos stay at their original sound level, time length, etc. Super small (even with the cable, its like hands length) so I'm able to travel with it when I go out of state for more concerts!

Phenomenal drive for media storage
I purchased this expansion drive almost 2 years ago now (11/2023), and have been using it daily ever since that time. It's been great for reliability, quality, and is way more space than I could ever need. I backup a lot of my purchased courses that are in both video and audio format, and this drive has been very good for that purpose. I do not use it for backup purposes, so I can't speak to it in that regard. For saving media, it's phenomenal. One thing that slightly concerned me when I first got it was that it was noisier than my 4 TB model was; I thought at first it was a problem with the drive. However, the noise has been consistent for the whole time I've used it, and it has never been a problem at all. The noise I'm referring to sounds like the drive is searching or scanning for something - only really occurs when I write large amounts of data to it or when it first mounts or starts up.
