ESET Smart Security - 2015 Edition - 1 User V.8

Pros: One of better software for security suites. Pairing this with full version of Malwarebyte and rarely if ever do I get infected. Sometimes Eset is too strong with its firewall but rather have it strong then being weak.Con: Had this happen on numerous computers and the firewall part of Eset causes computers to freeze up by making the cpu hit 100% on Windows 7. Verified in safe mode and computer did not freeze up. Need a Microsoft patch to fix but one computer did not work on. Followed Eset's instructions and it turned off the firewall once you rename the file. Says to call Eset to get help with the problem. This is known issue on Eset's website.Would have given a 5 star if not for that one issue that is a major concern. Hopefully they fix this issue.

I've used Eset products for almost 15 years now and never had an issue with viruses or malware. I like their secured browser feature that isolates me from my usual browser even though it also uses an HTTPS connection.It's a little complicated to set up, but if you default everything to Eset's recommended settings, you should be fine. It runs in the background and is very light on resources. Eset will warn you if you are about to go into a malicious site. It gives you the option to cancel or continue.On different computers, I've tried other Security Suites from highly rated companies but always went back to Eset.

This review is NOT for ESET Smart Security itself, which is a fine product, this is about the product I received through this listing when purchasing From "RedCore LLC" after I purchased the item, everything looked fine. I opened the box without looking at it much, and like anyone else I was set to only use the serial key with the downloaded version of the software. I looked closer and saw the CD was for the lower version ESET Anti-Virus, and RedCore LLC had stuck a sticker label on the box that said Smart Security (whereas the box said ESET Anti Virus).

I used NOD32 a very long time ago, but switched to free programs because I really dislike/am tired of subscription services--software as a service models. Then again, I got tired of the nagging that comes with some of that software (ahem... Avast), so I went back to Eset. I am very pleased--just as much as I was several years ago.

I've been using this brand for years. It was recommended by a sales person at a computer store, who at the time gave me plenty of tips on how to get my computer running faster and better as well. What I like best about ESET is that I'm not constantly bombarded with messages; it works in the background and only tells me what I need to know. Another excellent benefit is that it tells me when I need to update my Windows; you see, one of the things the sales guy told me to get my computer running better was to turn of Windows automatic updates, and ESET will let you know when important updates need to be uploaded. Automatic updates are a bandwidth hog, so now I only update when I need to do so, and I get to choose when to do it.

I'm happy with this smart security I have been using it for 5 years and I recommend it. I was also in shock that my order didn't take a whole week or two for delivery.... Thanks so much for good customer service...

Eset worked great for a week until my Windows 10 did an update. Then it would not work at all. There is no "help line" to call and the help I did get through email was poor. I installed and uninstalled at least 4 times and gave up. The description of this product said it worked with Windows 10 but I don't believe it. As yet I have not found another program to replace this, but I'm looking! Meanwhile, this one is back in the box just sitting here.

Had this program protecting my old computer, then bought a new one. I foolishly used only Windows Defender for a year. Finally bought this program again. Running my first scans with ESET now and have found 13 issues so far that Windows Defender never caught! This program is easy to use, helpful for a non techie like me. Does not bog down using the computer while running. And I trust it to do its job. I will never be lazy about keeping ESET running on my computer again.
