Foot relief
Exactly as stated. Works perfectly.

It works, mostly.
I guess it technically does what it is designed to do. It feels very cheap and I did eventually break off the tabs that hold the foot rest to the base. I would just recommend buying a chair that goes to the height that you need and skip buying a foot rest.

Love the pivot design, could use better non-slide feet on hardwood.
As mentioned in the headline, I love that this foot rest pivots on a relatively stable base, rather than having rockers like some of the others. The pivoting motion allows me to work my feet and lower legs for circulation, and it would be great for people that need to move when they think/create. I also love that, unlike most of the other foot rests in this category, it's not covered in fabric that will end up looking like a dead raccoon under my desk just because I have pets. On the other hand, the small rubber feet the manufacturer provided do nothing to keep it from sliding on uncarpeted floors if you place any kind of pressure against the bottom third. It then ends up stuck in the desk brace and can't be pivoted without fishing it back out again. The back bottom edge also knocks against my hardwood floor if pivoted all the way to the resting position. Larger, non-skid pads and a rubberized coating, at least the bottom edge closest to the user, would go a long way to rectify this. (a rubberized top would be nice as well though, as the top is a bit slick with house slippers on) Since I need an immediate solution to both however, I have simply ordered a rubber mat typically used for entry doors, which should work. As long as it does, I'll be hanging on to this.

Does the job
I really love this foot rest. This is the 3rd one that I have ordered. I have used the other two in different offices that I have worked at. The newest one I ordered was for my home office. I have used nicer and more expensive footrest, but I do not notice a huge difference to warrant spending that much extra money. The footrest is adjustable, and has two height positions when parallel to the ground it is 3 1/4 inch, at the highest tip is is 4 1/2 inches. The footrest is manually adjusted, it can moves back and forth but does not slip out of place. The footrest is very light and can be taken with you, because it does come in two pieces. I am 4' 11" and I feel that the height works well for me. It makes sitting at my desk more comfortable. I enjoy the textured surface (only at home) it helps massage the soles of my feet. I enjoy that it tilts back and forth because it gives my feet something to do. The footrest is easy to use and no fills. It is a great price and made out of recycled material. I recommend this to anyone looking for added comfort while working at a desk.

Some flaws in the design
I use a yoga ball for a chair, but am a very short person. I needed something to put me feet on to help keep me balanced. The footrest worked perfectly for what I purchased it for at first, but after awhile any kind of pressure started to make it weak in places. There's a flaw in the design, which I discovered once it started cracking and breaking on me. I admit that there are times when I put a little more weight on it than I probably should have, but it only seemed to get stress fractures in certain places - that is where the plastic grid across the bottom is missing in order to make it adjustable for height. If you use the taller setting, there's an empty space with no support. This space is where the rocker goes into if you use the lower height setting. I would suggest that if you get this to only use the lower height setting in order to give these open areas some support (if you buy it, you'll see what I mean). Overall, I really did like the thing, but was upset that the only place it broke was where there was no support. If this were a single height, it would have been great, especially for the price.

Great Foot Rest!!
First of all, this is the perfect foot rest for me. On the highest setting it helps me remember to sit up straight and allows me to keep my chair as high as I like it. I love it. Second, I don't understand some of the negative reviews. One said it's not smooth, but mine is. Some have said it's cheap, but you chose to buy a $15 dollar product. It is exactly what you pay for and what you paid for is good. It's a basic level product with no promises otherwise. Third, some have complained it doesn't stay at the level you want it. In the description it is stated it's on a free floating platform. This is one of the reasons I bought it! I had one that didn't tilt at all and I would tilt it with my feet without realizing it so this one is perfect for mt. If I don't want it to move every once in a while I can shove a tennis ball or something under it since I chose to buy one that moves. Fourth, some said it broke after a few months. I can't help but wonder how much pressure these people are putting on it. One person said it should be able to take some pressure but as I'm sitting here typing this I'm paying attention to the amount of pressure I'm applying and it's just not that much. If you're putting enough weight on it to break it then you're using it wrong. Most of your weight should be carried by your chair. I'm a happy customer and assuming I use it properly, I expect it to last a long time.

I'm sure I had the same experience as the other ...
I'm sure I had the same experience as the other 1 star reviews. I bought this assuming it would adjust higher than it does (which, my mistake for not reading the info thoroughly enough), it's definitely cheap, and broke within a month of me buying and using it. (I believe my feet were off-centered and I may have pressed down too hard on the corner of it, so the little piece that holds the top part onto the bottom broke.) I attempted to use it after that and keep my feet more still so the top wouldn't slip off since one of the support pieces broke, but it was completely unusable at that point. It's not worth the money! I ended up buying the higher-end Kensington footrest on Amazon which yes, was twice the price of this one, but you get what you pay for. The one I ended up with was definitely worth every penny, and I'm sure will last a LONG time. Again, whatever you do, don't buy this.

Your back will thank you
Awesome! I have lower back problems and I just couldn't get comfortable in my chair at work. Here is what I tried and it didn't work - hopefully it will save you some headaches. I would cross my legs all the time which is a big no-no for circulation, gives you varicose veins, AND creates increased pressure on your lower back and makes the pain (and your posture) worse. Besides that, it also ends up being quite uncomfortable after a while. So I tried a piece of wood, about six inches high to put my feet on, but that didn't help much either and my back kept on bothering me. So I figured, maybe something a little bigger would do the trick and I put a small box under my desk to put my feet on but that just made things worse because it ended up being too big. I would put my feet on there and after a while they went to sleep. The problem was that I wasn't able to bend my legs when I put them on the box and with the legs being straight, my knees started hurting and my back was worse of than before. Finally I was thinking about getting something like those steps they use for aerobics since the height can be adjusted on those, when I came across the Fellowes Standard Foot Rest. Since I was looking for something "box-like" I was really skeptic about the angle. I didn't really figure it would do any good, but boy was I wrong! The angle does the trick - honestly it makes ALL THE DIFFERENCE IN THE WORLD. It's a keeper and my back has been thanking me every day since I got this footrest.
