Works well with certain Moka Pots...
This hotplate, described as 5.5 inches actually has a 4 inch ("105 mm") diameter heating element that fits well under the Moka Pot I have (the label on the side of the hotplate says "YQ-105"). This is important to reduce heat going up the sides of the Moka Pot that might melt the handle. This product is described as "500 watts" but I measured 5 amps of current draw and 5 amps times 120 volts is 600 watts, not 500 watts - hardly an issue, almost not worth mentioning. Anyhow, this hotplate is perfect for the Moka Pot I have and use...

Smelled
The item smelled bad when opened the box. I did not see any tags with a UL listing. I used it 3 times and tossed it. It still smelled and takes almost 1/2 hour just to boil a small 1/2 pot of water.

Small, fast, hot!
I actually use this for 'burning' resin incense. Good, simple temperature control from coffee-warmer warm to boiling hot. Would be perfect for a small tea kettle.

It requires constant 660W to work not 500W
Measured with a Wattage meter. Don't be so confident to buy this thinking that with 500W you can power it. Aside from the misleading spec, it does the job.
