Ideal Compact Travel Fishing Rod
This is based on initial "out of the box" as well as a full day usage heavy usage.I had been thinking about purchasing a telescopic rod where I could conveniently travel either up and down long stretches of river or even on a plane without investing in expensive storage solutions. I was pleasantly surprised but this combo (Carbon Fiber Telescopic Fishing Pole). In the BOX- rod- reel- carrying pouch (for rod only)Fully extended, the rod measures 6'2" while in a Travel Mode, the rod can collapse to 16 inches. The rod is felt strong with the guides being very thick and sturdy. In my opinion, that is a great feature when storing/travelling. Other rods of similar value, will have wire-like guides which are prone to bending and affecting fishing technique. My only suggestion would be to limit the amount of metal utilized for the rod. I think that it could be prone to rust over time. The reel was probably the biggest surprise. It was made more of metal than plastic which is what you want and opposite of the rod. It felt really good in my hands and handled drag really well. It has the capacity for 8-12 LBS line. The reel felt extremely smooth compared to what I was expecting for the price point.I was able to take the combo out and travel through moderate thick bush to do field tests. We probably made about 200-225 casts, mixture of flips and hard casts - using various spinners, grubs and powerbait. The rod/reel also made it through 300 yrs of moderate bush and still felt/sounded smooth on retrievals. The verdict- I found this rod/reel combo to be of high value for the price point- I felt the reel (especially) was of higher quality and one could also easily pair it with another rod to preference.- I would suggest Plussino could find a way to make their reels only compatible with their rods to lock in consumer branding.- This is an ideal fishing set up for the traveler and the fisherman targeting panfish, small bass or medium sized trout.Hope this helps you in your purchase,Good Luck!

Great Beginner Set
Great beginner set. Took my son to trout fishing. We are able to catch big trouts with this rod. The bag is easy to carry and store in the car.

Not bad for the money
Was going camping and was looking for something to take along in case we ran by a decent river. These rods are not too bad. The bag is perfect size and fits two rods AND the reels if you pack it right. I also was able to put a small spool of extra line and a small plastic box of lures. Love Love Love the carrying case. The reels are decent, the only issue with the rods is the spinning decoration by the handle that makes it look cool but is king of goofy like spinning wheels on a car.Ive owned collapsible rods before and the rings coming off and rods getting stuck open or closed is 90% user error.Only real complaint is casting. Maybe its the line I used, maybe its the reel (which feel great) but it just seems like the line does not come off as smooth as some of my other rods. All in all this is what you are looking for when traveling, hiking, or keeping in the car to sneak away for a few casts.Yes, you get what you pay for, but in this case its not too bad. Im satisfied.

A Real Bargain!
Plusinno spinning reel / collapsible 8' rod. This rod and reel are nicely made. The reel looks very durable and constructed of mostly metal parts with very little plastic, namely the drag knob, the knurled crank arm holding bolt head, and maybe a couple of appearance-related parts. The spool is metal and the fit and finish are pretty much perfect from what I see. No burrs, abrasions, or blemishes. The spool felt a little tight prior to adding line, but after adding line and casting a few times, it smoothed right out. The drag works great and is easy to adjust even with a fish on the line. I spooled mine up with about a 100 yds of 15 lb braid with a 6' 8 lb fluorocarbon leader. As for the 2.4 meter collapsible rod – just like the reel, this rod looks and feels great. Each carbon fiber blank (or tube section in this case) is silky smooth and without blemish. The guides are nice and fitted into a metal ring that also makes up the 'joint' that cinches each section when extended. All-in-all a pretty impressive rod for a very small price. The collapsed length of this 2.4 meter is 26 1/4” and extended it is just at 95 1'2”. The sections are loose when collapsed and tighten only when about 90 % extended. A little twist of each section at the end to completely extend and align the guides is all it takes. To collapse the same action in reverse – twist slightly as you are sinking one section in to the next.First casts with the very light tackle I was using felt a little strange to me since this is nearly 8' long, fairly heavy, and with heavy action with most of the flex when casting pretty close to the end. This is compared to the 6 ½' ultra-light rod or 7' medium action rod that I am accustomed to using in the trout pond where I decided to first try this Plusinno rod/reel. Once I upped the weight of my tackle the Plusinno collapsible rod felt much better. The rod is printed with “Maction” which I assume indicates medium action, but in my opinion this is a fast action rod. It has a fighting butt and I couldn't imagine casting this without using a two handed grip. I used it for a little while casting out a slip-sinker rig and caught my 6 trout limit at the pond.I typically break down my rods when not at the water just to keep the lines from multiple rods tangling the rods into a mess. This collapsible rod makes that job a lot easier and quicker. Since it is so short when collapsed, I have been leaving 1 or 2 of the bottom sections extended just to handle the line from hook to sinker or whatever and the sections stay extended even with pressure from the drag to keep the line taut. My only reservation is that I chose a rod that was too long for my light tackle uses. At the price point, it would not be unreasonable to buy another shorter one. All-in-all this is a real bargain!

Great rod and would buy again
Really good rod. Made people jealous with it and a couple friends went out and bought one too. Would buy again.

Drag will not engage.
Reel will not set drag. You can tighten the drag screw to full tight and line will just fall out of the bailer. Not the sellers fault, product is simply not made correctly. As the return window has closed for me I will take it apart and see if I can correct. Otherwise the reel is useless.
