Rubie's Harry Potter Child's Deluxe Gryffindor Costume Robe, Medium

Purchased for my child who is 47.25 inches tall, so I gambled and ordered a medium (despite him being 0.75 inches below the top of the range for small). We should have ordered a small - it drags just slightly on the ground and will have to be pinned. I would also recommend a small if your child is 49 inches (for some reason the range is S: 44-48 and M:50-54; apparently kids do not grow in odd-number increments), unless they are heavier/stockier for their age. A large or XL should fit small adults (even if you're heavier than the listed weight. At 5'2" and 120 lbs, I would probably fit into an L or XL.The fabric is a nice weight - more of a heavy felt.The color is way off. As many have mentioned, it was closer to a medium pinky-mauve. Acceptable colors would include: scarlet (books), maroon (movies) or even a cranberry. Pink is not a Hogwarts house color.The other frustrating aspect of the costume is the clasp. It is not permanently attached to the costume. Instead, it has a two sided clip (similar to mitten or suspender clasps) on both sides. It is much too tricky for younger kids, and doesn't allow them to easily attach and detach the clip.The embroidered patch is nice and is the correct colors and design.Overall, not a perfect product, but good enough for a Halloween costume and dress-up. However, if you're a HP purist, you might want to keep looking.

My child wanted to be Harry Potter for a school dress up day. I didn't have a lot of time to wait for shipping on higher-quality products, or I probably would have gone with the Premium velvet option that others rated more highly. HOWEVER ... I finally went with this DELUXE version since I found it on a "like new" offer that was significantly cheaper and in the right size.From all my looking around online and in person ... 1) The robes offered on Amazon are NOT all alike. If it doesn't say "deluxe" or "premium," it is going to be a thin, nylon, see through material. Some might like that material better. I preferred the fleece with the deluxe. It's sturdier. More substantial. Feels like a robe. I also preferred that the deluxe option has the embroidered emblem, while the standard (nylon) option is a print sticker that will eventually peel. 2) THE FLEECE -- Many reviews indicated that the fleece was a misery they didn't want to deal with. I can see that any pet-owning person would agree. It clearly attracts pet hair. I can attest to that, as my "like new" robe came with someone else's nasty pet hair on it. It clearly does attract and trap the hair. Had I not needed it the next day, I would have sent it back just for the fact that it had someone else's hair on it. But I don't have to deal with pet hair, I don't expect my child to roll around in lint or yarn, and it washes up nicely (which I promptly tested to get the hair off), so I much prefer the quality of the fleece to the nylon. The nylon really was cheap and too thin. I like the fleece much better in comparison. Again, feels like a real robe. 3) Both standard and deluxe robes I inspected have pointed hoods. I didn't love that when I looked at the nylon robe in the store, which is partly why I kept looking. I did not expect to have a pointed hood on the fleece deluxe robe ... so I will point out that it DOES have a POINTED HOOD, same as the standard version. Once it's on, it's not a big deal, not very noticeable, but it isn't what I would have chosen had I known. The online descriptions do not detail this and it is impossible to tell in the pictures. If I'm honest, I wouldn't really know if the "real" Harry Potter robes had a pointed hood or not. I don't remember the author detailing the hood in her books and certainly didn't focus on it in the movie, so in all likelihood, they could have been pointy. Either way ... this robe is a great costume robe even with the pointy hood. 4) The lining -- The lining is more of a pinkish color as some have said. And this robe was only "accented." It would be better if the accent was somehow tacked down to the robe ... or if the whole robe inside was red ... but it works well enough. I wouldn't say the difference between accent or full lining makes or breaks the deal. If you can find one with full lining, at the same price, then sure, that's better. But this one works well enough. 5) I ordered a large for my son who measured 45" from shoulder to ankle. It fits perfectly.

In accurate product description is an understatement. False advertising is what this is. This item is not thick and fleece lined as described. It’s made of thin nylon that you can see through and poorly put together. The pictures are also misleading as they do depict a thick fleece robe. Trust me save yourself the headache and aggravation of having to do a return. I immediately hit the refund button when I opened the package. Amazon should ban this seller

My 9 year old love this. Ordered a size larger so he could grow into it. It is a little long thoughFor him and he is an average nine year old. I'd rather have a bit long and hem than too short. Very happy with it. Nice and warm for Canadian Halloween as it is fleece material. I can see how someone might be disappointed if they were expecting super high quality materials (I would picture Harry's robe to be velvety) but if you understand what you are getting, I do feel it is worth the money.

We just returned from Universal Studios. Similar robes there were $115 US so I was thrilled to find this one. We bought it for our son's 7th birthday party but he is still wearing it and will likely where it for Halloween. It is a soft fleece material so he is also using it as a robe around the house. So glad I waited!

So happy with this costume!!! Daughter loves it.I actually last minute purchased a second one from spirit halloween (for more than double the cost of this one) ... and the quality of this one is superior in EVERY way. Can not say good things about this !!!

I got this for my 10-year old daughter for Halloween and she loved it! I used the sizing chart to get the right size and it ended up fitting her perfectly. The quality is also quite nice and I am sure that this is something she will surely wear over and over again.

Reasonable price for costume and the material was decent - it was heavy, not thin. It did not look cheap. Having heard about more overpriced versions that aren’t as good quality, I was quite impressed with value for this item on Amazon!
