Brighter Than Expected, Batteries Not Required, Fixtures Included
Moving house and now having both a front and back garden, I wanted some external lighting that I didn’t have to worry about trailing long cables and hooking them up to the electrics, or having something that needed its batteries replacing. Something for security but also something that looked nice and in-keeping with the new place.I found these lights to be great value for a multi-pack of four, I’m currently using one near my front porch, one on the side of my house and two in the back garden (one on my house, one on the garden near the back gate). This are fully powered by sunlight and also have a non-replaceable built in battery that is used to store power from the solar panels. These are much brighter than expected and also last longer than I anticipated. There are a few settings you can choose from on the units, off, low-glow until motion detected, then high glow, or simply on on high glow. They turn on automatically at sunset/when it’s dark enough, you can test this during the day by putting your hand over the top and covering the solar panels.Fixture and fitting wise, they came with 4 sets of screws and raw plugs, each unit is held by two screws and hangs on them similar to a picture frame on the wall. It would be nice to see some way of attaching them to wall without needing to drill and make screw holes, but I guess that's a little difficult if they are mounted internally or externally on a number of different surfaces. Perhaps some self-adhesive pads for internal use might have been a nice touch. Top-tip - use some tape and put a line across the back, covering both holes, mark on the tape with a pen where the holes are. Then take the tape and put it against the wall and drill through the two marks you've made - this will help make sure you've drilled your holes in the right place! For the price, I think these are great value for money and are doing the job that I purchased these for. I hope to see these last a fair while as they are weatherproof, but only time will tell in that respect. Worthwhile having, even if just for extra security and cheap enough to be affordable for most homes.

Worth every penny. Great product at a great price. Highly recommended.
After having some sneaky wee sods skulking around the garden shed at silly hours, I decided to invest in a few lights. The reviews of these were pretty good, the price tag even better at less than £30 for the four. They arrived promptly the next day, well packaged without being excessive and incredibly light. Everything needed to put them up was included, bar the drill, and they were up positioned throughout my and my neighbour's garden within minutes. They charged effectively in very low levels of natural light and hold enough charge to easily last the night. The light itself is very bright and casts a wide angle whilst the motion detector is sensitive without activating any time a spider wanders by.My parents visited last night and immediately had me order them a set of 4 so needless to say, they were also impressed with the performance and the price tag. Very good product and a very happy customer.

Sturdy feeling little units. Should be durable.
I purchased these to put around outside our house as its pitch black at night in the countryside and I cant be bothered wiring up external lighting everywhere. They are extremely easy to install - literally 2 screws and the instructions are very straight forward. There's 3 modes which you can scroll through using the button on the front. The units themselves feel very sturdy and well made and the light level and spread is quite impressive too. The light is of a cool white spectrum and lights up our gravel pathway down to the shed nicely. They don't need much sunlight to function either which is good because there isn't much solar power available during winter in Britain.......

Bright lights
The Good:They're nice and bright for the size.Construction seems reasonably sturdy.Supplied with fixing screws and wall plugs. The Bad:The motion detection is very 'straight on' . You get very little sensitivity to approach from the side because the PIR detector dome is very small. As with most of these types of light, the ambient light sensor is simply a voltage detection from the solar cell. If you place the light fairly close to a reflective (or white) surface, then when the light turns on in the dark it causes enough illumination of the solar cell to cause the light to turn straight back off again. In an open installation this won't be a problem, but it makes it quite difficult to test the lights indoors. The Ugly:The instructions are appalling. It's sheer guesswork as to how to get the light to come on in the first place. Press and hold the white button for a few seconds until the light flashes twice - this is the default mode: light on when approach is detected, off after 15s of no movement.

Finally some decent solar lights
This is my second set of this type and I'm very happy with them, first ones are still going strong after years. I'm putting them all round the house. There's a decent lithium battery with a good solar cell, these will even charge in the dismal UK winter. A decent waterproof enclosure protects the insides, it's plastic and light weight. I don't use the always on mode for the areas I have mounted them, I just use the sense movement, the sensing is adequate for my needs with the light at the right height around 2 metres. I would have liked a soft white version to try out then use the always on low brightness mode for another area.
