This music is great!
These songs are wonderful, well sung by young kids and perfect for children or adults ha! We played them at my Granddaughter's 3-year old birthday party and they were delightful, happy and fun. I don't know why a couple of reviewers said the songs were too "religious" - they are not. If the song "Joshua fought the battle of Jericho" is too religious, that's sad for you.

Only D***L Worshipers could hate this collection... THIS IS A MUST HAVE
I purchased this set, with the expectation that for under $8 bucks, that perhaps only 3 or 4 songs would be good. I was so so very wrong. This is the music, that is used in daycare,pre-school, and sunday school. It has all the classics, and the children's choir, is so "sugary" sweet, and charming, my toddlers, stand a listen- TOTALLY MESMERIZED. I mean in a trance, acting along, with the songs, and singing aloud. This is a welcome change, from our usual babysitters- Disney Junior and Sprout. All songs, are arranged in traditional format, and have their original "christian" messaging, As many Nursery rhymes were ( okay, some were wiccan too). However, the collection, here is done, with the understanding, that this is geared towards preserving the innocence in music. And that the family is okay, with a little bit of Jesus, thrown into the mix. Not at all heavy handed, just done with the traditional version. The collection is 3 CD's, and well over 3 hours of beautiful songs. Again, if you own a daycare center, this is a must have, or want to be able to leave the room, and have your children listen to music, without worry, that they will pick up some inappropriate language, then this is a must have collection. If I could give this 10 stars, I would. A great, little music collection, that keeps small children occupied.

Fun and simple, but very religious songs
My two-year-old son loves this CD.PROS--Virtually every nursery rhyme and song you can think of is on the CD.--The music is simple and fun, it is sung by little kids, and it is enjoyable. My son tends to prefer rhymes sung by little kids (as opposed to adults), and he tends to prefer simple renditions with one or two instruments, instead of complex orchestra pieces.--Each CD comes in a sleeve on which the list of songs on the CD is printed. So, it is very easy to find a song that you want.CONS--There is a lot of *Christian* music on here. Even songs that you would not think are religious have been reworked with lyrics that reference Christianity and Jesus Christ. The CD's description does not make this apparent at all, so I was caught off guard. I am not very bothered by religiosity, but I don't think it is fair to parents who are not religious or who are not Christian to be basically lured into buying Christian music without being informed beforehand.--This CD is very patriotic and America-centered to the point of reworking nursery rhymes' lyrics to fit in America-first lyrics. That doesn't bother me, but if you are not a parent who wants your kids to grow up listening to jingoistic music, you might want to rethink buying this.

Religious/Christian songs! What a pleasant surprise! I had no idea! Yaaaay!
OK, I'm not really that excited about the religious songs, but they don't bug me. I just read the reviews of some people acting as though they didn't realize they'd be getting a few Christian songs. I suppose they are afraid it will brainwash their children. Fortunately I was able to use my brain (thank Charles Darwin for that!) and read the track listing before purchasing! Secondly, anyone who knows how to use a web browser can find out in about 5 seconds that Cedarmont Kids is totally a "bible thumper" company. So stop trying to make yourselves feel relevant/important. If you were that much of a sophisticated intellectual you would have already known what you were getting into long before purchasing. There are plenty of other children's albums out there you can buy if you are afraid your beliefs may be challenged by children's songs. So about the music itself - the songs are mostly traditional but a few of them have been "jazzed up" a bit. Some people will like that, I don't mind it but I prefer more traditional versions. Secondly, the instruments are synthesized and so if you are nostalgic for your 1980s childhood like I am you'll be OK with this, otherwise it may sound a bit outdated to you. Overall I give it 5 stars for the price. But I strongly recommend you supplement it with Disney Children's Favorites volumes 1 and 2.
