I bought this for my niece to go with the Sophie teether I bought her last year. I was originally attracted to the fact that this is wood and has stackable pieces. Unfortunately, because it is a gift I was unable not to able to open the box to see the quality of the wood and the paint. However still super cute. Can’t wait for my niece to play with this.

Some of the pieces fit in my 10 months old mouth. Gotta be careful. Other than that she likes destroying the train when I set it up for you. I’m sure in the future She’ll get some more play out of it.

I will agree with the others who have said many of the pieces are way too small. This train is completely adorable but should definitely be on a larger scale, similar to the Sophie house shape sorter. Especially given that Sophie is a teething toy and targeted for teething aged children, the pieces are very small.

I guess I am used to seeing the Melissa and Doug version... that’s what I had pictured in my mind for this toy, only cuter with the colors and Sophie.But it’s tiny.And most importantly, it’s so tiny it is NOT APPROPRIATE FOR 12 MONTH OLDS.I’m shouting this in case you might be buying this for a gift and you see the 12m age recommendation on the box. Because you won’t be there to see said 12 month old pop the little red piece in her mouth and have it completely disappear. Like in a scary way. I repeat - NOT FOR 12 month olds.

This toy is advertised for 12 months and up but contains numerous small pieces that are a serious choking hazard. Not safe for young children.
