Mrs. Anderson's Baking Animal Cracker Cookie Cutters, Set of 4, Spring-Action Embossing Cutters For Cookies, Fondant, And Pastry Dough

I've been baking a lot lately and decided to replace many of my daughter's store bought crackers and cookies with homemade (healthier) varieties. So, I looked online for some good cookie cutters that were reminiscent of the cute little animals crackers I used to eat when I was a child and stumbled upon these. I had never used plunger type cookie cutter before and many of the cutters that I viewed were designed for fondant or were just too big, though, I'm sure fondant cutters would work just fine too. I can say they worked out perfectly just as advertised, they even arrived in a cute little gifting box with a lemon cookies recipe! The cookies I baked were fairly small, about 2 inches at most and came out relatively thin, with all the cute animal details and crisp edges. They looked so good, I was able to convince my daughter that they were from the store!! Keep in mind that these are slightly harder to clean since they are somewhat detailed and of the plunger variety, I probably wouldn't put these in the dish washer. But, overall I'm super happy with these and have been using these almost every week for the past couple months.

love these although i only use the leaf fun for use for pies and very sturdy the design is great and the shape is great very fun and the perfect size

Work great for animal crackers.

A little bigger then animal cracker sized, but very very cute. The near doesn't imprint very well but the rest do. Very simple to use.

Make animal crackers like a pro! This simple yet unique cookie cutters use a spring loaded back to imprint and cut the cookies. Easy to use and simple to clean, I was able to make perfect cookies the first time out. I can’t imagine why spring loaded cookie cutters are not all over the place. I wish there were more sets of animal shapes so I could make a zoo of animal cookies for the kids.

These are adorable…they are mainly for pie crusts but am going to experiment with cookies also!!

Love these cutters. I use them with King Arthur's Animal Cracker recipe. Easy to use (even by my under 2 grandkids who love to help make the cookies). Love the design the cutters imprint into the cookies.

I recently purchased the cut-outs. They work like a charm. Dough doesn't stick to the cut-out and clean-up is a breeze - just flick off the excess flour with a clean, dry pastry brush. For example, I used them with a savoury dough on cornish pasty style meat pies for decoration and identification - maple leaf for beef, heart for chicken. Stick the cut-out on over egg washed dough and brush the cut-out with a bit more wash. They stayed on and browned up nicely. Sweet! I also made a ton of extra hearts and maple leafs with the dough scraps. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and lay the cut-outs flat. Freeze for a few hours (until completely hard) then transfer to an air-tight container for deep-freeze storage. To use: pull them out frozen and "glue" with egg wash. Voilà!
