Great Value
I bought this to run hard-wired internet connections to my living room TV and bedroom. I have a wireless router, but hard-wired connections are much more reliable and faster. The crimping tool is excellent quality. I saw a comparable one at Home Depot for $20. The cable works fine and is a great value for 300 feet. There are no instructions, so if you have never done this (like me), you can look up ethernet wire on Wikipedia to see how the colors are lined up. The kit comes with T568B wire. Also, I initially made the mistake of stripping the ends of the individual wires, which you shouldn't do.

Worth the Money and Enabled a Successful Project, Would Have Appreciated Instructions
I've never run CAT5 cable, never terminated it, I'm a complete nube. Nonetheless, I wanted a hard cable from the kitchen to the FiOS router in the basement and figured I could just follow the phone line that's right below the desk where the computer is. LSS, after much fishing with a straightened wire hanger, over-sizing the existing hole, and a couple of dozen trips up and down the basement stairs (a helper would have been good), I got the cable where it needed to go, punched the cable down into a keystone jack in the kitchen and 4-port terminal box in the basement, hooked in a patch cable at either end, and the whole thing works fine. In fact, I upped my download speed from the net by over 50%, so clearly the wired cable works better than the wifi connection I had. So, what can I say about this kit that I bought? CABLE - The cable seems perfectly fine, nothing spectacular. The one thing I noticed is that it doesn't have the pull-thread that many cables have which allow you to open up the cable insulation without risk of nicking the actual carrier cables inside. The cardboard box was well configured to feed the cable out from the interior of the spool which is the way it should be done. CRIMPING TOOL - Not a piece of cheap plastic crap, this thing is made in Germany! I expect it comes from the former East Germany, and it's not a $50 tool, but it's made of actual steel, works smoothly, fits well in the hand, and does the job. I will probably have this tool in 10-years because it won't fall apart and I don't expect to do this type of work all the time. A plus, too, is that it will crimp phone connectors in addition to CAT5. CONNECTORS - Nothing great, but they work. Someone else wrote that the tabs need a little bending to be in the right place. I agree. BIGGEST CRITICISM - This kit came with absolutely no instructions. I was able to go online and get terminating instructions on YouTube ( ref: [...], [...], and [...]) and diagrams (ref: [...]). For a nube like me, though, it would have been nice to have had a one page sheet with a few photos and some tips included. OVERALL - I'm happy with the purchase. This much cable from a Home Depot would have cost more than the kit, and I would have had to go to the store and buy it, plus get the crimpers and the connectors.

Great Package Deal
For the price paid, this is a great deal. The CAT 5 wire itself is ok and you get 300 feet included so it's a fair amount of wire, at least for our small office. I'm impressed with the quality of the crimping tool that came within the package. I was expecting some cheap thing that would break if you put too much pressure crimping the plug ends. This is a good quality crimping tool that should sell for $15-20 by itself - so I consider that a real bonus. Just be sure to add more RJ45 Plugs as 10 that comes with doesn't go far - i.e. makes 5 cables providing you do screw up. The Belkin 50 pack is a good deal. Then, if you've never done this before, watch youtube video showing how it's done and be sure the wire colors match on both ends and ends are cut straight and pushed all the way in BEFORE crimping. Once you know how it's very easy. Like anything it's the first one that the hardest. . .

Works exactly as advertised
Great starter kit. I'm an IT professional, and bought this for home use. The cable, RJ-45 ends, and the crimper all work very well. I've run Cat5e to 4 rooms in the house and got rid of the silly 50 foot cables to connect devices 12 feet apart. Things look nicer and easier to maintain. I thought I read some people complain about the Crimping tool quality. Don't believe it. It works just fine. Not sure this is what I would buy if I did cabling every day for a living, but for home/small business use, it's perfect.

For 25 bucks, you can't really complain.
I finally had enough of the packet loss with my wifi adapter. I didn't want to spend another 50-75 dollars for a decent adapter. Went looking around and found this set. For 25 bucks, you pretty much get what you pay for. I only really needed about 100 ft, but 300 ft is also fine. Came with the connectors and crimping tool, so that was a plus considering the price the overall price. In general, the cable works for what it is. If anything happens that warrants an update, I will do so.

You get what you pay for.
You get what you pay for. The quality of the wires inside are not that sturdy compared to others I have used over the years. These are the worst ones I have ever used. The wires are too flimsy and took a few times to get them to go into the connectors in the correct order. Never had this much of a hassle. I got them to work and they do the job, but will never buy these again. The crimping tool works great and feels sturdy, but the wires are not great.
