Exellent product and great price.
I purchased these lids when starting to make my own kefir. They are easy to use and work so well I don't need to use a strainer to separate the kefir from the grains. I also like the fact that they come in a package of two lids of different colors so I can tell which is the current batch in process and which is the already processed batch of kefir.

Amazing!
These lids are awesome! They make it so easy to make my water kefir. I plan to buy another set...wouldn't do it any other way!

Good quality and fit
Just received them, while they seem to be exactly what I wanted. My only problem was that it is designed to allow air exchange if the upper cover is set in a certain mode and that it is expected to be used to screen out Kefir grains. It does not seem to be fine enough or large enough to do that. The other concern is that my instructions do not recommend allowing the Kefir to be exposed to air and possible bacteria that you do not want. I do appreciate the ease of cleaning and its ability to make a good seal without using metal.

Needs bigger holes to work for milk kefir
I think this would be great for water kefir, which is of a thinner consistency, being just sugar water, and with smaller grains that don't clump together or create curds. Unfortunately, I've been trying to use it for a couple of days with my milk kefir, and it's frustrating enough I'm not sure I'll keep it. Milk is thicker than water, and thicker still once fermented. The grains themselves are somewhat big, they tend to clump together, and the milk forms a certain amount of curds when culturing. This is an ingenious setup, enabling you to twist the lid slightly open while the ferment is active, then closed for storing or shaking (my attempt to break things up to enable better straining) and is entirely removable for straining and pouring. But that's where the difficulty comes in--straining and pouring. Cultured milk kefir does not easily flow through these very small holes, especially as they are instantly blocked by the grains and curds that surround the grains. I tried closing the unit and shaking hard to break it all up, but I still find I need to pour a bit out, pull back and shake it more or rap it against the counter to dislodge everything blocking the filter, then pour/shake some more out, etc. I need to do this a whole bunch of times even when I only have a cup or two of milk, and my kefir is not over-fermented. This really needs bigger holes.

Nice for fermentation
I got these for milk kefir and then realized it's probably meant for water kefir. The milk grains kept clogging it but I've since repurposed then to use for other fermentation like mustard and hot sauce and they work well.

Very useful for kefir
The lids are highly effective for straining kefir and separating the grains out.
