Confused about sizing--my 8 year old wears a 2.5--are these toddler or kids sizes?

These are kids.They run small. My 6 yr old wears a 13.5-1 So I ordered a 2 & it works with a little growing room. These are working great for the beginning horse rider & won't break the bank. They have held up in mud,rain. No problem with the zipper or any stitching.

How tall is the heel?

1" - measured at the back of the heel.

Do these run narrow? My little has wide feet

They run a little small/tight all around. (daughter has usually worn a size larger in these than gym shoes, although fitting in the same size right now). I wouldn't say narrow, but definitely not a wide fit.
