UPDATE Review -
I am ending a 4 month Hiking experience in Scotland, Turkey, Greece, Crete, Malta and Spain. This Walking Stick is GREAT! No Problems at all -except going through Security at Airport :-). My experience with the Walking Stick at Security Checkpoints - better to have it put together and using than in pieces. Simply hand to the TSA Agent for separate screening. Otherwise, TSA, World-Wide, has a tendency to pull it from your bag/backpack and anything with it…..Have used every day of this Adventure and the more I utilize the Walking Stick - the more I like it. Strong-Study and just the right length for the ups/downs of Hiking and all that entails. Had a Carpenter friend re-do the finish of the Stick to make it look like Hickory….. Perfect. On the trail or in Cities - many comments about - What a Beautiful Stick! Just returned from a 5 mile hike. I am duly impressed with this Hiking Stick. Sturdy/strong/lightweight and I was pleasantly surprised with the strength of the leather wrapped grip. When I read the description and looked at the foto before I purchased, I thought to myself - I will be replacing. Nope, just like the Hiking Stick, Quality/strong and well secured. I gave the Stick a 4+ because one of the sections does not sit flush with the connecting piece and is more difficult to screw in/connect. Hmm.... will this impact the durability/strength when I need it most when I Hike the El Camino in Portugal and Spiritual Walks in Scotland in the late Summer? Would I buy again - Yes!

My New Normal
I got sick with a rare illness and it left me with permanent disabilities one being balance. I got this to help me and it worked great. I prefer this to a cane, it is very sturdy, comfortable and has a soft, secure grip. It is also adjustable, so it works for people of all heights. Bonus is it has 3 different bottoms to select from. The regular rubber cap whoch is removable and reveals a pointed tip for mor rugged terrain, and then there is a small basket tip you can easily slide on for the more mushy or overly soft terrain. Its also great for traveling, breaks down into 3 pieces and comes in a nifty carry case. Only draw back is where each section screws together it ends to become loose. You will recognize it easily once you try to use it and all you have to do is give it a small twist to tighten again. Be very careful not to pver tighten and strip it. That's what I did. I kept it for a long while and continued to use because it was a small inconvenience to tighten every so often compared to the safety and stability it gave me. When I decided to replace it I searched dozens of walking sticks and none compared to it. So I bought another one from the same seller that has some of the same features.

Great walking stick
I am very pleased with the quality of this walking stick. I only used 2 of the 3 sections, as I’m looking for a walking stick to use while I walk around town. I am an avid walker in the good weather. Unfortunately in 2023 I was attacked by a loose German Shepherd. She bit me and I needed 8 stitches to close the wound. I have pepper spray, but state law prohibits my carrying anything that could be considered a “weapon”. I’ve searched for a long time for a walking stick that would help me keep my balance on uneven sidewalks and pavement and serve as protection if I ever need it again. This walking stick is substantial, is comfortable in the hand, has a wrist loop, and can be used for hiking as well by adding the third section. The little compass was a nice addition. I know I’m going to feel safer. And I think the price is quite reasonable.

Very sturdy. The sections screw together and the screws are long and large diameter. Just what I wanted

Not only does its job, it also looks quite nice
I purchased this walking stick as I do not like having both my hands occupied with traditional paired walking/hiking poles. Using this longer stick, or staff, also worked well with my height (I'm 6 foot 2). I recently went on several hikes in the Lake George NY region, one of which was quite challenging with steep ascents and broken terrain. The staff worked well for adding an important third balance point on tough terrain, providing a point for me to use some upper body strength to lighten the load on my legs during steep sections of trail, and most of all served well for probing leaf beds and rock piles for secure footing. The three piece design also allowed for easy storage in the back pocket of my car seat. I did see some reviews questioning the stability/strength of this staff. While I did use it for stabilizing my balance and as a push-off for steep grades, it's clearly not intended for supporting a person's entire body weight. It's a walking/hiking aid, not a piece of gymnastics equipment. Used within its design intent and parameter this staff will provide you with an attractively finished and very convenient addition to your hiking gear.

As a senior, solo hiker with mobility issues, I’ve used a sturdy, hardwood walking stick for years. Sadly, I lost mine recently and decided to replace it with one that I might bring with me while flying. While this item looked acceptable, it has turned out to be surprisingly solid! Looks great, as well. I’m very pleased with it.
