Das Boot Knife
Great boot, bag or belt dagger. Came with a very well made durable leather sheath with metal belt clip and button clasp. Purchased it on sale so even better. Have a few other Smith & Wesson knives and they are all good quality for the price and arrive very sharp and hold an edge well under normal use. Comfortable hand grip and light weight. _

A good knife for the price.
Buying knives sight unseen is always a gamble. I needed a new boot knife and always buy one in the Sykes-Fairbairn commando style knife uses by the SAS and Marine Raiders in WW II.....but a bit smaller. I took a chance on this knife and have been pleasantly surprised at the style and quality of the knife. It is a solid full tang knife with a more than adequate non slip grip. The double edged blade holds an edge well and sharpens fairly easily. I am pretty critical of knives and I don't write many five star reviews. But, for the price, this is a very well made and attractive boot knife. I have several other "on line" knives that I paid more for and were of inferior quality to this one.

Has a nice sheath for a knife at this price.
Worth $20, not much more. It’s a boot knife and has a rigid leather sheath with a clip. It’s ment for defense. If you’re looking for a better quality knife about the same size with a single edge I recommend the large BuckLite. It’s a drop point, has a more robust blade with a good heat treat. It’s the same steel buck uses in most of their blades. The handle is much better than the S&W, and the blade has some jimping on it. The only drawback with it is that it has a nylon sheath. I guess that’s how they save money on the knife. It cost around $33, so a little bit more but worth it.

Very nice. Couldn't put it down.
I'm no knife expert, but I've owned quite a few over time. Most have been foldable. I bought S&W model CKTACBSD an Amazon a while back and really like it. I wanted a fixed blade to have in addition to the foldable for use camping and as a general tool around camp & while motorcycling. It's always good to have a reliable knife on hand. You never know how much you use one until you don't have it handy. I can't say exactly why I wanted a fixed blade other than convenience of use and durability over time, but since the S&W foldable tactical was so nice and the reviews on this were so great, I thought I'd give it a shot. I wasn't disappointed. This knife is well made, looks great, very sharp out of the box & even more so with just a little extra sharpening. Love the coating on the blade and the handle size/feel is fantastic. As I said in the title, when I first received it, I couldn't put it down. The weight, balance and size just begs to be held. I haven't tried it out camping, but after slicing and stabbing a few random inanimate objects about the house, I'm confident I'll be pleased once I do. The case is of similar quality to the knife. Nice thick leather with a sturdy clip. I had slight difficulty at first getting it back in the case without looking, but after a few tries, I got it down. Although not an issue with the product, my other concern is that in my state, I wouldn't carry this as a "boot knife" (under my pant leg anyway) as due to the fixed and double blade, it would likely violate concealed weapons laws. If I wear it on my belt in plain sight while riding or camping, I should be A-OK. That's how I wear my foldable anyway, so it's no biggie--except I can legally slip the foldable in my pocket if I need to pop in a store or some other civilized place where I don't want to stir up trouble or frighten the townspeople. Ironically, I can carry a concealed handgun (with permit), just not a fixed double blade knife.

Excellent quality
Exactly as expected. Very nice. It's got a nice thickness to it, with a great grip feel and a length that allows for both good utility, and effective use for self defense or daily use. The sheath is ok too.

I'm honestly surprised that this knife doesn't cost more. Overall aesthetics are great. The sheath is fine -- I know some other reviewers had problems with quality but this one is good. The knife is a snug fit at the top but it loosens up quickly. There is a metal thumb piece to open the rivet and the belt clip is secure. The handle of the knife is a tiny bit small for my hands but not a real issue. The rubber handle gives a nice grip. The blade is a nice leaf shape with a fuller on both sides. It is sharp, but not razor sharp out of the box. There is a slightly uneven grind at the point but you have to get very close to notice it. The blade coating is uniform. Great little boot knife.

Great little blade. Nit little... in fact great size in my large hands with more than enough blade real estate for what ever task. Light, but solid. Overall easy to carry many ways (and many ways it can not be seen) i got 2.

The Hostage Rescue Team (HRT) is the FBI's elite Special Operations tactical and counterterrorism SWAT Team.
