IBDC032 Invade Bio Drain Gel-1 Qt

If you have a fruit fly problem, BUY THIS NOW!!!! With the season changes, we had fruit flies come out of nowhere. I purchased this product and put it down every drain in my home and when I say by day 2 they were all completely gone!!!!! I will be purchasing another bottle just to have on standby. The directions say use every other day for about one week and then as needed. I literally only used it once and have not had to repeat the process!! WORTH EVERY PENNY!

I saw some plumber recommend this in TT for cleaning drains. My kids’ bathroom had a funky smell, and despite deep cleaning the whole bathroom, the smell wouldn’t go away. So I thought, what if it’s their sink’s drain? Well, I followed the directions on the package and treated their sink—and their bathtub drain for good measure. Low and behold, the funky smell disappeared. This cleaner also has a mild, pleasant citrus smell, so that was nice too. It’s a little pricey but worth every penny.

This Invade Bio Gel is working, not as well as I had hoped but think my problem will be solved on a second bottle. First let me tell you. I have had a Drain Fly problem for sometime. For the longest I had no idea what they were. Once I suspected my problem was coming from the drain, I dumped all kinds of stuff down the drain Drano, bleach, ammonia, vinegar and about anything else you can think of with not improvement. Finally found out these were called Drain Fly's and found the Bio Gel as a cure. Also I did not physically clean the drain as suggest, use in all drains twice. The problem seems to be the tub/shower drain and that is where the focus has been. Before the Boi Gel I would come home and there would be 4 to 6 flying around the house. Down to a 1/4 of a bottle and now days I'm finding 2 to 3 in the tub/shower. so as i said it may take 2 bottles to resolve my problem. I'm glad I made the purchase.UPDATE: not so glad i made the purchase. thought it worked but the drain fly's came back even worse. For weeks now i have been using baking soda, salt and vinegar. Then flushing with boiling water. You can buy this a your local dollar store much much cheaper. Ok all the above may have helped but still had the problem. Now I'm using a product called Drain Care. Can be purchase here on Amazon or at your local Lowes or home depot. In my third week of using Drain Care and later flushing with boiling water. Also keeping my drains covered when not in use. The amount and size of drain fly are reducing.2nd Update: Ok this bio gel and all the other stuff i have poured down the drain to get ride of the drain fly's may have helped. As I mentioned in the 1st update started using a product call Drain Care. Guess it for about a month now and a week a or so ago i realized i have not seen a single drain fly in a while. When I first researched drain flys, one of the first things i read is they breed in the organic matter of you slow drains. I rent and do not want to bug my landlord cause the rent here is good. This sink in the bathroom would back up with brown water and leave a brown and orange residue when the washing machine drains. After using the drain care, the back up in the sink is not as bad and it is black which to me says i is killing the organic matter in the drain. So the drain flys are gone and i'm planning to use the 2nd half of the drain care weekly to see what continued improvements it makes.

I've lived in my place for 20 years and suddenly drain flies appeared in my kitchen sink -- I had never seen them before. I believe they got started in drain sludge that must have accumulated over time (the sludge was not think enough to slow the drain, but evidently was thick enough to harbor drain flies). First, I used Drano, it helped, but did not completely eliminate the flies. So after a couple weeks, I ordered this product. After a two days of using it, the flies were completely gone. The flies have now been absent for a couple days. If the flies reappear, I will update this review.Note that I have followed up by using a drain snake to clean sludge in the horizontal drain pipe between the two drains in the kitchen sink -- but I only did that after all the flies were gone. I didn't find that much sludge in this horizontal pipe so maybe the culprit sludge was further down the line. BTW, I used FlexiSnake Millipede drain snake which I highly recommend for sludge cleaning since it's "bristley" (if that's a word!) -- but the Millipede snake is not very long so I may follow up and get a professional plumber to clean the full length of all my drains -- From reading many forum posts on the subject, I understand that cleaning out sludge is the most effective way of really getting rid of drain flies. However, short of that, this product worked quickly for me and was a lot cheaper. I'll save my pennies and have all my drains professionally desludged in a couple months.I used this product as follows on my kitchen sink: First, I squirted a couple ounces down 1) garbage disposal drain, 2) the other sink drain 3) bottom of dishwasher (don't forget that -- since it's a possible home of drain sludge). I then poured just a couple ounces of water down each drain -- enough to wash the gel into the drain, but not enough to overly dilute it. I put silicone mats over both sink drains (the kind you can use to cover bowls in the microwave). I also closed the dishwasher tight and put tape over the little opening of the dishwasher overflow which is next to the tap on the sink (if you do this -- don't forget to remove the tape later). I did this to trap any flies and keep the fumes in so they would effectively "gas" the flies and any larvae. Don't worry, the "fumes" are not strong or noxious at all -- just a mild orange odor that dissipates quickly, but I think these mild fumes may be effective against drain flies when confined to the drain. I left this set up overnight without running any water. Then I flushed the drains and repeated. So far, so good -- no flies. I may do this every month if I'm disciplined! I have bought this product a few times and have been happy with it but this time it is clear not orange. The orange product works well, very good in fact but I have no idea on how the clear will work. I especially like the orange because one of the many uses is I use it on the drain lines on my air conditioner, with the color I can see that I have added enough to the unit. With it being clear I am not going to be sure. The price isn't enough to make me want to return it but because I live a long way from anyplace. I am very, very disappointed. I was not out of my last bottle so I haven't opened the new bottle yet.
