This Ethernet cable is categorized to have the CAT8 speed. I have upgraded my network to gigabytes fios and I was using cat 7 cable. I was curious to see if it could make it faster. I have tested the speed for large file transfer - it seems at least 800Mb/s is achieved as that in CAT8 specs.If you’re using cat 5 or cat 6, you would see tremendous improvement. I like it for its quality and connectors. It is a great value.

I upgraded to two of these 3 foot Cat 8s from my old Cat 5 cables for my router and media server. My cat 5s were old and unshielded. I was getting a lot of weird behavior(s) from my wifi and media server, but from nothing else so I knew it was the cables for whatever reason. and after plugging these in I was surprised by a few things. The weird behavior I had been getting ceased which may be due to being shielded ???, but an unexpected thing happened and now I am finally able to get wifi signal in the one dead spot in my house which I didn't think cables would fix/change. I have never gotten more than one bar of signal on any device prior to using these in that area so I am certain it's because of the cables. I am now getting 4 bars on the three devices I tried in that area, so whether it's the cables or sheilding or both I don't know or care, but that was a great unexpected surprise. My media server now is also responding very quickly. WIth my Cat 5s it would always take about 15-30 seconds to be discovered in the app I use to access it and any media played would lag a bit at first, but now when I hit the media server app it appears as soon as the app loads and the media itself starts right up with no lags. So all in all the cables seem solid, the 2 pack was reasonably priced and I actually have noticed improvements. The wifi improvement alone in the dead zone was an unexpected bonus.

Although there is a big disclaimer the cable will not increase internet or network speed, as that's more a function of your various hardware pieces, I found the connections these were use on to at least be a touch more reliable than with older CAT5 cable. Sure, it's possible that a new CAT5 would have helped as well, but I believe the better connectors and the belter assembled cable of this product is really the reason for that perception. And it was noticed by a non-techie using the hardware attached who had no knowledge of the swap.Bottom line is that I think these made a positive difference and my perception is my reality!

THANK YOU ! i was impressed with the quick shipping and overall quality of the cables . AND THE PRICE!!! my network is only 1gb ... so these cables were overkill ..i am using them between modem to router and router to computer .. did basic speed test online before and after new cat 8 cables multiple passes and with the new cat 8 cables and was supersized to see over a Mbps increase in download on average and at least a half meg upload increase vs the standard cat5e.. if that don't say Quality i don't know what does! i have not tried any other brand .. and i have no need to these are perfect in quality performance and price .. i highly recommend them to anyone!

Got a new TP-Link router and wanted to make sure I was getting the best possible speed from my Comcast gigabit connection. These cables actually made my connection from my modem to my router slower and from my router to my Plex server computer slower. I did all the tricks. Rebooted everything, checked settings on the network card. I'm no newbie. I got slowing using these. Put my self made Cat5E cables back on and without changing anything or even rebooting my speed went back up to what it was. I should have trusted the other negative reviews. These are cheap chinese junk. AVOID THEM. I just saved you an hour of trouble shooting. You're welcome.

didnt make my internet any faster but it did show performance boost and steady internet. so would recommend to gamers looking for a premium ethernet cable. hope this review is helpful

Quick example: Top of the line gamer enthusiast with prime income has a 200 Mbps connection (let's joke and say it's 1 gig...maybe Fiber Optic Service provided by Verizon or some other provider) and in the other corner, a game enthusiast with a lower income that gets a 40 Mbps connection. Depending on that equipment, i.e. the port(s) on she/her/hers or he/his/him's router and motherboard AND the connection speed, there's a lot going on there. Suffice to say it's a great cable.
