My Review
Just to start out, the one that is shown, the silver one is not the one that you get, the one shown is the LM 009 the one you get is the cheaper plastic one LM 007 which is five dollars less. It is a good quality item but don't buy this silver one, order the round base black one. I wonder if they just used the wrong picture. I returned the first one and they sent the same one. You might get the one shown. The round base black one works as it should and you will be happy with it.

helps with angles and elevation
elevates the blade well, easy to use, might be good if you anchor this to a wooden base if you have teh option of keeping it permanent.

simple improvements
there are some improvements that can be made. a better method of locking the wires to the stones. the thumb screws constantly come loose. also an attachment to hold the stone while sharpening a knife.

Must have option for the Lansky
This is a must have item for your Lansky. Can use the sharpener without this, and I still do when I get to the last few single strokes on each side, but is a huge help when spending lots of time on a knife.Haven’t mounted mine to anything yet, but will most likely screw it down to some wood just to make things more permanent. Holds flat against a counter or table without being secured, but would be nice to have a station set up.If you watch any videos you’ll see it isn’t a “solid” mount. You’ll still have to hold the sharpener in place, but you’ll be thankful for that when you get to the last few strokes and you’re flipping sides back and forth.

a little sloppy
Not a big fan, I abandoned it after a couple of tries

Use Some Teflon Tape on the Threads
Much better than holding the clamp by hand and much better than the C-clamp (I’ve never owned the C-clamp).It will mark your clamp as the aluminium rubbing against each other will make that apparent, but the weight of this stand makes up for that. While it’s best to screw it into your table or workbench, I don’t have that luxury, so I just hold it down over some newspaper to catch the swarf.Do be sure to put some Teflon tape on the threads, otherwise you’ll be focused on keeping the peg screwed in than actually sharpening your knife.
