The Absolute Best Dispenser with all 8 purchased
I must admit, I never write reviews till it was recently brought to my attention on how important and the difference they make on the success of a product. This is my 2nd review and this product is worth writing one. Ive tried many all have failed. Umbra has never failed w all 8 purchased for self and friends! My oldest is now 7 years old. The original smaller size and still going strong. Excellent value, pricing on a preciously perfect product. Sensor still working strong as intended. For those w the bad reviews, Honestly I dont understand? Maybe a bad lot of them but all mine have proven to be quality, precise w little effort. Sometimes it gets clogged but an easy fix as any pump would (manual or otherwise). When I completely reno'd my kitchen, I felt my kitchen too deserved the latest Umbra auto dispenser, I purchased directly from their site w a new updated, fun look. Two years later still going strong. Its like the 3nergizer Bunny! Still clapping, but in this case still dispensing. Ive never been disappointed w this brand in any product they put on the market. All my friends loved theirs too and eventually purchased more to have one in every room w a faucet. I highly recommend this product. Good products for a reasonable price is almost non existent these days but this is an exception to the rule. Cheers!

This dispenser is worthless unless your soap equivalent has the viscosity of water.
What the heck happened to this company - UMBRA? I had an umbra automatic soap dispenser prior to purchasing this one for five years, and it was outstanding. It was damaged during my recent move, which is why I purchased this one. There were a number of choices, but I didn't hesitate to go with UMBRA because of my history with their product. Again, what the heck happened to quality control? This UMBRA product's performance was so poor, that I went ahead and ordered another auto soap dispenser from a different company right away. Initially I was pleased with the replacement's performance, however, it is now sporadic with it's delivery (no Idea why). I am so tired of paying for junk and am ready to stop purchasing from unknown companies on AMAZON. I have tried to follow up on their warranties and all of the sudden their listed phone numbers are disconnected or their email contact information is no longer viable (this is pre-covid!). UNACEPTABLE and unfortunate that substandard and shoddy products are marketed on Amazon with no guarantee of customer satisfaction. Unknown venders that do provide quality products will take the hit, because shoppers will not want to risk another marketing scam. It is worth mentioning that I have had a few difficulties with products that I have ordered through Walmart. All of those issues were resolved with Walmart's complete backing and their associated vendors adhering to their stated warranties and the promise of customer satisfaction. That kind of business policy certainly enhances consumer confidence with unknown merchants and is worthy of consideration.

Umbra always has the best design and functionality
I'm a longtime fan of Umbra and have found they always provide new and interesting approaches to every day objects as well as advancements in emerging design and technologies. The automatic hand soap dispenser is another example of their great design and functionality. At first I was concerned the dispenser was too large and that it would stand out in a bad way in my kitchen. On the contrary, the arc of the top and height perfectly aligned with the faucet single-handle of the sink and stands out only as a skillfully designed addition. The motion sensor works well and the amount of soap dispensed is just perfect. I have had not issues with accidental deployment of soap from moving near the dispenser while washing dishes or other kitchen work unlike with some models where any movement within several inches creates wasted soaps streams. This is a great, reliable purchase for anyone looking for a tech-based solution.

Works well so far
This soap dispenser is working great so far. It looks great, and dispenses just the right amount of soap. I use automatic dispensers for liquid dish soap so I can just get a little on my scrubbing brush to do the odd pot or knife (Most of our dishes just get scraped and put in the dishwasher, but we do most cookware and our sharp knives by hand.) I also wash my hands with the same dish soap. I bought this particular one because my DIL has it (for liquid soap) in her bathroom and I liked the way it looked and worked. My old dispenser is now out at the garage sink. With these dispensers the proof is in how well they operate over time. So time will tell. They do tend to clog up a bit so I generally thin liquid dish soap with a little water. My only peeves: it has a screw cover with a lousy, easily stripped screw, so you need to have the right screwdriver AND be careful when removing. It went fine for me but they could do better. And a latch cover would be much more convenient. Also it recommends against rechargeable batteries, so not as environmentally friendly. For those two peeves it gets 4 stars.

Not as good as the previous model.
4 MONTH UPDATE!! After my initial review I read up to see how I can troubleshoot the issue I had since returning wasn’t an option. It turns out it was the soap that I used. I guess it was too thick, when I diluted the dishwashing soap with some water it worked so much better!! After over 4 months it is still working! Which I’m glad because I really like the last model that I had. Hope it last as long. To be fair I change my rating from 1 star to 3 stars. ******************************** Initial review after 1 month: I had a previous model of this automatic soap dispenser by Umbra and it worked great for over 7 years! So I ordered this thinking it was the same one. Which it is, but a newer model that is larger and holds more soap. However it did not function as well. It worked fine for the first month but I didn’t like how it only pumps out a small amount of soap. I have to pump 2-3 times to get the amount of soap I need. Which didn’t bother me until it kind of stop pumping out the soap! It’ll pump the soap out once after 5- 6 tries!! I can see the blue light and hear that it’s pumping but nothing comes out! I thought it was due to low battery but after I changed the battery it still did the same thing. Frustrating!! I’ve passed the return date so now I can’t return it!

Awesome!
Awesome product. Special note: when the batteries go dead after about a year replace the batteries with a good grade battery. Otherwise, it won't work when you replace the batteries. Even with new batteries if the voltage is off just a little bit it won't work. Trust me! I used to be a believer in Duracell batteries, but for electronics which are voltage sensitive like this one, use Energizers. I originally bought 3 of these and unknowingly threw a good one out, but then figured out the unit was fine. It was just the batteries I was buying weren't at maximum voltage. Love this thing. Have one in both bathrooms and kitchen. Best to use clear soaps with this dispenser and cut the soap back with water. It dispenses better and you conserve soap. Emollient type soaps (soaps that look like milk) don't work as well in the dispenser. Emollient soaps will thicken if the unit is not used every day. This makes the soap more difficult to dispense.

Would Have Been Great If It’s Working!
I liked the shape and the amount of soap that you can fill. After using it for 3 days it stopped dispensing soap but the blue light still lights up. I don’t know if I received the defective one or not. I’ll give it another chance, i’ll try to have this exchange and see how it goes. By the way, the auto soap dispenser to the left is 10 years old and I bought it from Bed Bath Beyond and it’s still working. 8/13/20...I am updating my review and will give it 1 star instead of 2.... if I can give zero I will. I received the exchanged soap dispenser 2 days ago, after one day of using it, it’s not dispensing any soap any longer but the blue light is still working (and definitely it’s filled with soap). I tried to add water to the soap to make it thinner (as what the “unclear” instruction stated but it’s still not working. I will return again. See video attached. Don’t waste your money! I’m wondering how many returned items until Amazon would stop selling. I know now the reason why Bed Bath and Beyond is no longer carrying this item.

Affordable touch less soap dispenser
Love this product! I bought one for each bathroom, after I trialed it in one bathroom. Easily dispenses soap and easy to refill! I thought the price was a little steep but compared it to simply human brand and one other brand, this is less expensive. I trust this product to work properly and if anything should go wrong I can count on them to resolve it. So there are much more cheaper ones out there, just now so sure about the quality. Umbra's has a sleek amd clean design, easy to clean/disinfect the outside. Just beware you need a small screwdriver to open the battery compartment underneath the dispenser. For some odd reason the screw would not come off; the sides of the screw are too shallow for the screwdriver to push against it and to open. I kept finagling with my screwdriver and finally got it to open. Will probably have to get a better type of screw from Lowe's or Home Depot.
