These are very high quality abrasive belts. There are a lot of off brand belts available for the work sharp sharpeners. You won't be saving money as the belt will fail very quickly. Get these and they last a real long time.

If you have the tool, you already know how incredibly well these work. A caution though. If you have a beat up lawnmower blade, machete or axe, this isn't where you start - these coarse grit belts are no substitute for a coarse grinding wheel or more often a lot of work with a file and the tool in a vise. The Work Sharp product is a finishing tool. These belts last a long time as a first step on a dull, but not abused, knife blade. Just because they're "coarse" doesn't mean they're for heavy stock removal.

I essentially use 4 belts when making an edge - from coarse to extra fine. To resharpen or keep it very sharp, I use the few strokes with a fine and extra fine belt - finished in 5 minutes - love it!

These "engineered" belts are far better than the cheaper bulk glued sanding belts you can find. They may loose there color an look worn out but don't let that fool you, the older they get the better they sharpen. The cheaper sanding belts you can find to fit the KO machine wear out quick and cause you to try and force the blade into them causing more problems and heat.Stick with these engineered belts, you'll be happy.

Yes these are great replacement belts for the Ken Onion Work Sharp electric knife sharpener. These belts last long enough that I've sharpened all my wife's kitchen knives, all my hunting knives and pocket knives and then some before swapping them out! Great set up. Of course it takes three different belts to get your desired edge but street that you only have to use the buffing belt to keep them razor sharp.
