Iztoss LED Backlight Motorcycle Meter Tachometer Gauge Rev Counter 0-13000 RPM black

Ok... this thing was a pain. I finally got this thing working though it doesn't seem the most accurate judging by the sound of the engine. It sound like it reads high at low rpm and reads low and high rpm. That aside it took me 2 DAYS to get this thing working!!! The wiring instructions in the product description were right. I have a 2007 gz250 and i wrapped the 2 positives together and the 2 negatives together. The positive went to my horn because it's live when ignition is switched on and easy to get to. The negative is naturally just any ground. Important note... you need to make sure the tach itself is grounded not just the wires! The problem I had was with the signal wire. On my gz250 the signal lead is negative and for whatever reason wasn't working for the tach. After some Google an how to attach to the "high voltage line as in the description I found a possible solution. I had to wrap the signal wire tightly in a coil around my spark plug wire. Moving the coils even just 1/8" drastically changed my tach reading but was finally getting a "reading. After a solid day of playing with just the signal I found my best location to be directly around the top end of the wire boot with a coil @ 8-9 loops. The signal wire must also come out perpendicular to the plug wire or it won't read. I used electrical tape to secure it then covered that in a layer of liquid electrical tape to keep it from baking and unraveling over time. The tach itself I would probably give 3-4 stars... the 2 I give is mainly because of the lack of interest the company gives to their product and customers. A simple diagram paper with some troubleshooting tips would go very far with this. Even better would be to include diagrams for different common applications or ignition systems. Great price... not worth the time or headache though.

Instructions are very vague didn't even bring a diagram I'm still waiting to hear from them to see which side does the engine signal wire go to negative or positive side ! No manufacturer support it's useless none can tell you where does the whine signal wire go to. Pathetic . I've already paid someone to mount it and they did connect all the wires but the engine signal wire so I have a tach that lights up but doesn't work. Don't waste your time or money the tachometer needle does NOT WORK THIS THING ONLY LIGHTS UP!!! STAY AWAYYYYY

Looks nice but doesn't work. I'm getting a signal on the input wire but the tach doesn't move.I tried getting the seller to help me but they just offered the same unhelpful "instructions." No wiring diagram or explanation is provided other than what's in the product description. Garbage. Spend a little more money on something else.

after a lot of effort i finally got it to work, they are not very well sealed after just one rain session i could see condensation. if you are very patient or very technical you can buy them but if you are looking for a plug and play you should stay away.

Mecp certified, install gauges among other equipment and can confirm this doesn't work, shame as it was right size I needed and look good as well.

Tachometer gives a faulty reading if it is not supplied with enough power. I have this added to my 6v motorcycle by using a step up. Reading becomes more accurate with the more power it gets from alternator.

I am a mecanic since the last 14 years, i installed this rpm gauge on my bike and it wasent working at all. I double checked my wiring and still have a (+), (-) and a pulse signal but gauge wont work with the proper wiring shown in intructions or in any other combination.I sent a request for refund and service was good and fast. I installed new gauge to fin out it is not working either.I redouble checked my wiring and confirm it is good. Tested rpm gauge on bench with a 12 volts battery and nothing hapen, gauge is N/S.Its been 4 gauge I try now and still not working, N/S on issue, very poor quality from china.

This tachometer is very easy to install on Ruckus,I prefered this analog meter as my LED type tachometer is hard to see on daytime rides,cant see the numbers well. This one just glow and easy to see even on sunny day to see your rpms top speed.
