Follow My Instructions and your SIG P226 will fit PERFECTLY!
This is an absolutely BEAUTIFUL holster; phenomenal quality and striking appearance. The problem?? As other reviewers have stated, it's a VERY TIGHT fit out of the box. What to do?? Simple!! (although, it will require your patience.) When you receive your holster, try inserting your pistol. It will be impossibly tight; almost to the point where you'll be tempted to return it. DON'T!! The instructions say to wrap your pistol in plastic food wrap. Wrap it at least 3 times and force the pistol in. Then, use a hair dryer to warm the exterior of the holster for a full minute or two, applying more heat in areas which seem to need to loosen up a bit. DO NOT REMOVE THE PISTOL. Allow the warm holster with the wrapped pistol in it to sit overnight. The next day, remove the pistol WITHOUT removing the plastic wrap and then insert it again. Notice, that by heating it and letting it sit overnight, the pistol is now able to slide in and out somewhat easier. It may be only slightly noticeable after on night...Progress!! Okay, remove the pistol again and wrap it 3 more times on top of the original 3 wraps. Again, insert it into the holster and give it another 2 minute blast with the hair dryer. Again, let it sit overnight. The next day, remove it and unwrap the pistol. Check the fit. Still too tight? Repeat the process. Keep adding layers of plastic food wrap, (as many as 6 or 8 wraps) inserting it and applying heat. With each application of heat and each overnight 'stretch', it will loosen up slightly and finaly take the shape of your pistol. After 3 or 4 days, your holster will be a PERFECT fit for your SIG P226.I wanted mine a little snug, but for those who want a very loose fit, just another day or two of the same routine should do the trick. The operative word is PATIENCE. You WILL have a beautiful fit for your SIG and you will LOVE this holster!

Ideal
If you are concerned about bleed-out from the staining, wear gloves, otherwise you'll walking around red-handed. It has a tight fit and is sturdy on the 1st go around; after some conditioning and wear-in, perfection. Snug as a bug in a rug.

It's Unbelievable!
I am very particular about OWB holsters. Not a kydex kind of guy so I prefer leather holsters especially for steel framed firearms. I had been shopping for Sig friendly holsters. Must have looked seriously at at least 25 different brands from custom made ones to the expected commercial mass offerings. This one caught my eye and I am completely happy with what I received from 1791 Leather. Out of the Amazon box this holster shined with quality. The leather was first rate- sturdy, solid and well stitched. Its design was intriguing overall and I appreciated the "curve" made into the holster so it rides close to the hip. At 3 o'clock it rides solid and gives easy access for presentations. I did take the time to break it in as I do with leather holsters. Rubbed in some leather lotion into the outside and used some "quick draw" treatment to the inside. Holstered the unloaded firearm inside a plastic freezer bag for about 48 hours. After 24 hours I reapplied the lotions, let them dry and reholstered the firearm. The result was an altogether unbelievable holster. I also drew and reholstered the empty firearm a number of times still in the plastic freezer bag to do a final check for fit and retention. I eventually put the holster on my belt and wore it for several hours. It is a KEEPER! Love the dark brown color too. Very happy I chose it. I am 100% certain that anyone who wants a quality holster and doesn't want to spend twice the money will be as pleased with this 1791 holster as I am. It's an heirloom holster I will treasure. Thanks 1791!!! You folks are doing a great service to those of us who want holsters.

Fits P226 like a glove and looks sharp!
Four stars for a 1911R, but five stars for a P22X...This is a quality made leather holster at a reasonable price. I originally bought it for my railed 1911 (description says it would fit) and while it did fit, I wasn’t happy for two reasons. First, on a 5” 1911, about 1/2” extended out the bottom of the holster. I prefer to not have the muzzle extend out of an open bottom holster. Second is that while the 1911 was nice and snug, no worries for retention, it did allow some front to rear rotational movement if you put front or rear pressure on the gun.The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is that while it is marketed for a railed 1911, it doesn’t quite work for mine to my satisfaction. I am sure other would be happy with the fit on a 1911 but I can be a little “OCD” about these things. I would have given it a 4.5 if I could and had I bought it specifically for my P226 or a P220, it would be a five star rating.I ended up ordering a Desantis holster for my 1911 and while it has a more custome fit, the 1791 uses a thicker and more substantial leather.Even though I wasn’t looking for a leather holster for my Sig Legion P226, I will keep this one because it fits the P226 like a glove, no movement, and completely covers the muzzle.Hard to find a decent leather holster these days at a reasonable price and even harder to find one that you don’t have to wait weeks if not months to receive.I hope 1791 is able to increase their catalogue of custom fit holsters, would love to have one of these for some of my other handguns.

CZ Shadow 2 Compact
Great holster for the money.Fit CZ Shadow 2 Compact perfectly after stretching per instructions.I put on one large ziploc bag. Then wrapped with saran wrap. Then put a piece of cardboard on either side and taped it up with electrical tape.Wrapped the barrel good with the tape. Then forced the gun into the holster. It took some serious pushing to get it in.Left it in for a week. Now it is a perfect fit.It may sound like a lot of work, but most holsters need some variation of this process to get a perfect fit.The quality is outstanding--as nice as custom holsters costing $150-$200.
