Best "alternative ice" maker
I seem to have an "alternative ice problem" having bought whiskey stones, tovolo king cubes, and now these (over the course of 2 years).I find the whiskey stones to be quite pretty... but pretty useless at chilling a drink. I drink scotch neat frequently, and would rather not have square rocks tumbling towards my nose. The king cubes have a slow melt, but the shape isn't really a "cube" at all. They've impressed thus far, but it was time to up my game.I'm pretty excited about these spheres! Not only do you have a slow melt, but they freeze to look like quartz spheres. The only drawback to the spheres is that you can't crank them out as fast since you only get 2 spheres, and any more would be difficult to find space for in my freezer. So, I can only get about 4 per day if I switch them out twice. My plan (besides refraining from using them until I have a stockpile and some guests), is to make that great first impression with these babies, then switch to the king cubes. At that point, people will be more shocked at the diversity than recognizing the less than optimal "cube" shape.

Excellent and unique product!
I went to a bar in Philadelphia called the Franklin and Mortgage Company and in some of their drinks they had an ice ball called a "rock." Of course, at this aforementioned drinking establishment, the "rocks" where made by hand. Of course I don't have the time or patience to sculpt them myself, so I ordered six of these and I am glad I did. They are a great conversation piece and do the job excellently. The size is perfect for most glasses I use these with. You can also tell that the construction of these Plastic molds are of high quality. I would definitely recommend these to any Whisky, cocktail, or even those who just want it for soda's and water.

Works great and I got drunk
Bought this as a gift for a friend, and it worked very well. You fill up the rubber mold with water, leave it over night, and then just peel it off to give yourself a large ice ball. I was able to refill my glass 4 times over the course of an hour or so and it seemed to work just fine.Highly recommend. The only bad thing I can say is that my ice ball cracked in half around my 3rd glass. Didn't bother me though.

Great item. Not just for whiskey.
I bought two packs for gift. They were very well received. Some may think they are just for the whiskey lover and while they are good for that, they are good for just about any drink you want to keep cold. They do melt but it takes them quite a while.

Awesome
5 Month update:Still makes good ice balls but has an annoying flaw. If you refill it with water right after taking an ice ball out of the freezer and then put it back in the freezer, the mold will separate to some degree. Numerous times I have ended up with about half an ice ball because the water leaked out.The solution to this is to leave the empty ice mold in the freezer after taking out an ice ball and then wait some time before refilling it. I'd guess at least 30 minutes.__________________________________________________________________________________________I've had this product for almost a week and I love it.Pros:-Durable. It is made from silicone I believe and seems already very durable.-It is pretty easy to get the ice out.-Big. When I was deciding whether I should buy it or not, the pictures seemed like the ice balls it would make were kind of small. That is not the case, they are the perfect size.Cons:-It doesn't make a perfect sphere. This isn't really a con though because they are only small imperfections.Assuming it doesn't break (which I don't think it will) this product is great.

got balls?
not a whiskey drinker but figured this would be just as great for other drinks, such as a spicy margarita? so...i was right!these molds are freakin' awesome! i had my doubts, but the end result is round, circular, an actual sphere!mine also has a crack, usually in the middle, but still, i loves it! can't wait to try it with double boiled, bottled water so that it is crystal clear =)it's best to fill it to about half an inch from the top since the volume will increase as it freezes.run it under cold water for a few seconds if you have trouble getting them out of the mold.also, seems to me that they're a bit bigger than 2 inches in diameter, but um, what do i know about size?products like this makes me wish i still had my dog. she would LOVE this in the summer time.PRO: they make you the best host ever cuz you gots drinks with balls, baby!CON: they don't help you clean up after the dinner party...
