Happy
I bought these rods in 2 sizes and I am happy with the purchase. I did not use the supplied hardware, however. I had purchased separate rod brackets that are sturdier than the standard ones, as my children tend to bend the ones that come with the rods when they open and close the curtains...Thus the reason I replaced all the rods in my main living space...4 windows and a double door (slider size)....the old ones were a bent mess. I installed these rods myself...for reference I am a 41 year old overweight woman with very bad shoulders. I had no trouble installing them.I will agree with other reviewers who said getting these rods out of the package was the hardest part of the entire process. That being said, however...it's why they were protected so well during shipping. One even came in a damaged package but the rod was in perfect condition. So I will not dock stars for that. I will tell you how I opened mine however because after the first one I did the rest differently! Each end is stapled...several times...and the staples hold in the plastic package end caps as well as the entire cardboard piece that runs the length of the rod...and the rod is tie wrapped in in a couple places as well...which means you have to release ALL the staples from both ends (not easy, mind you...they are industrial strength) in order to pull the entire rod out of the package so you can then open the center box and clip the tie wraps to remove the rod and hardware...because you also cannot slide the rod out of that center "box". After wrestling with the first one I simply took a box knife and ran a slit the entire length of the packaging (being careful not to hit the rod itself)..going right through the cardboard box in the center. Then snipped the zip ties holding in the rod and I was then able to lift the rod out. As for the plastic wrapper that is wrapped tightly around the entire length of the rod, I stood the rod on a chair and started peeling at one end...then pulled the plastic slowly...it unwrapped the plastic from the rod (spinning the rod in the process).Overall I am happy with the purchase. They are good quality and look great with the brackets I bought and the new curtains. I will caution that you really need to make sure whatever brackets you use has the set screws set tightly against the rods. If the rod slides at all the plastic protective end cap that fits between the inner and outer rod (where it slides) will come loose and slide onto the middle of the smaller half of the rod. This is a non issue if the set screws fit to the rod tightly. These were just what I was looking for when I purchased them and would recommend them to anyone looking for a little better quality than the standard department store rods without mortgaging the house for high end ones.

Good product.
Good quality, strong clips for holding the rod. All in all, holds the drapes as it should.
