When his girlfriend tells him that his men wouldn't follow him to a house of ill repute, Max, a general in the Mexican army decides to perform some great acts of heroism. He takes his men over the border into Texas and re-captures the Alamo. This upsets the Texans greatly. The Texas National Guard is sent to retake the mission. Normally this would be easy as Max's men have left all of their ammunition back in Mexico, but the State department insists that no one be killed and so the National Guard also goes in with unloaded weapons. Review: Still a great movie but the DVD has only one drawback. - Great movie that has always been fun to watch. We enjoyed the DVD. Just a note...the movie service Tubi (available on line, Roku, and Fire TV) has this movie free complete with English subtitles for those of us hard of hearing. Review: classic 60โs farce - I last saw this on cable where the print was terrible. This dvd was surprisingly clear and bright for an old movie. The cast is comprised of the usual gang for this type of farce, Harry Morgan, Keenan Wynn, and Jonathan Winters. Itโs similar to The Russians Are Coming though not as funny. John Aston is great in his role as Peter Ustinovโs Sergeant who looks out for him. I saw this when I was 8 in the theater, and it was fun to see it again.

Oldie but Goodie.
I saw this movie years ago and was happy to be able to find it on DVD. The picture quality isn't all that good but it is still as funny as ever. The password, "Richard Widmark," has been a family tradition for years.

Davy Crockett, John Wayne, Richard Widmark are the only real people mentioned in this movie!
Hilarious movie from my childhood. Although nowadays some of the racial stereotypes might seem offensive to some (lack of Latinos in key roles) it also makes fun of Anglo Texans (Alice Ghostly, Harry Morgan, Jonathan Winters) but it's a great premise carried out by a host of 60's character actors. Not that good of a transfer and no subtitles for elderly folks but I've been looking for it off and on for so long, that, I enjoyed the heck out of it. Also too I've never seen anything with Peter Ustinov in it that I didn't enjoy. And Jonathan Winters for that matter.

was horrible. Like it should be on MST3K horrible
The product itself was as advertised. No issues there. The movie, however, was horrible. Like it should be on MST3K horrible. I wanted to like it, I really did, but it was terrible. I was sort of hoping for a "The Russians Are Coming! The Russians are Coming" type of comedy. Nope. I see that some folks love the movie, and I understand that we all have different tastes. "It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World" is one of my favorites, as is "Smokey and the Bandit" and any Bugs Bunny cartoon. This movie...not so much.

Funny in its time
Saw this movie soon after it came out. Tried watching it again and it's just not funny anymore. Also, nothing to do with the movie itself, the quality of the DVD recording is awful. It's like it was made off a VHS tape from a TV recording. Very poor visual quality and muffled sound. But, I can't say that this is a bad movie, just didn't seem as funny now. Maybe it's just me and my tastes in movies has changed?

GREAT CAST, BUT SLOW MOVING MOVIE
I bought this movie primarily because Pamela Tiffin was in it, one of the most beautiful, charming, and intelligent actresses of the 1960's. Suffice it to say, she did not disappoint! However, this CD is marred by several flickerings which never freeze the film, but are nevertheless somewhat annoying.

A Very Odd Movie
Again this is Peter Ustinov playing someone odd but not doing it very well. I could see Peter Sellers in this role and making it work. Not a movie to recommend to a friend.

Great Movie but Very Poor Quality
Wavy lines and repeated scenes and erratic jumping make it very hard to watch. It looks like a very poor transfer from VHS and done .

Unwatchable picture quality
Finally got around to watching this DVD which I bought years ago, to find it has an utterly DISGRACEFUL QUALITY which looks like it has been taken from VHS. Better to not watch it than pay good money for such a rip off as this. DVD from Cheezy Flicks dated 2014.
