Rubies Costume Harry Potter Child's Hermione Granger Gryffindor Robe, Small

I wanted to give this product a 5-star but I held myself back and remember to rate it for the entire product overall. Let me first say that my daughter loved this costume a lot; however, the picture shows that the robe closes all the way but it truly doesn't. See picture attached - you will still need to wear something underneath it to complete the entire overall look of the character.

Wow, is all I have to say. I did a ton of research, read reviews on the 3 different types of robes (standard, deluxe, & premium) and decided to spend a little more on the premium hoping it would be the right choice. I was NOT disappointed. This robe is amazing. It's a really nice velvet material with and great lining through the inside. It's not the cheap material you often find at the Halloween stores. This will keep my son warm if Halloween is chilly. The crest is a really nice sewed on patch. My son was over the moon when he opened it! He said he looks just like the real Harry Potter now. My son is 8 1/2 and 51" tall, after reading reviews I decided to order the large. It just touches the ground, but will fit him for awhile. If you're looking for a genuine Harry Potter robe, THIS IS IT!! So happy with this purchase!

This is exactly what I wanted. I wanted a light weight robe my daughter could wear to school that still looked authentic. The screen printed badge looked good. If it was embroidered it would have weighed down the fabric. I didn't think it looked cheep at all. We weren't going for legitimate getting ready to actually go to hogwarts robes. We just wanted a quality costume robe and this was perfect. I added Velcro below the clasp to help keep the robe closed which is why I gave it 4 stars. A button would be handy or something.

The photo implies the front can be zipped or clasped together, but no, you definitely need safety pins or some other improvisation to accompany the one (mediocre) clasp that comes with it. There are also numerous loose threads in the stitching, implying it might seriously unravel soon. And do keep in mind that the Griffindor label is indeed just inked on, not a patch.That said, it totally works fine for a costume, and I'm sure we can get multiple uses out of it. Nice flow, nice hood, and most important of all, my 10-year-old Hermione was pleased.Oh, one more issue, which I guess applies to most Amazon orders with different sizes: make sure you remember to specify your size, otherwise you'll get the default Small size! Size L works nice for size 10/12.

I read the reviews posted and took a chance anyways. I needed something light weight for my 10 year old grandson to wear out trick or treating without overheating. We live in Ohio with fluctuating temperatures and my grandson is a hot box to begin with. Seeing that he will be in full attire, this robe will complete the outfit with a light weight material. I wish this was actually made of the material graduation robes are made of, but this will do. The other feature I would like to see a difference is the crest. It is iron on and a good job, but a patch would have made it better..

I am so disappointed. We received this for my duaghter’s Costume and it is thin, fraying and the gryffindor label is peeling off. I’m now going to have to purchase a new costume. I knew it wasn’t going to be the best quality for the price but I expected that it would be at least wearable and look good for a few wears. To have the label peeling off out of package is extremely disappointing.

This is the nicest child's costume I've ever seen. It's not a steal, by any means, but I've seen pretty bad kid's costumes in the same price range. The robe is fully lined with the maroon satin (not just the hood). I do wish the tie were included, since the one we got separately is a slightly different maroon. There were a few strings that will need to be cut, but I think it's the nature of the velvet and not construction errors, as it looks well sewn. I think this is actually something he can pass down to his own child. Can't wait to surprise my son with it when we visit Diagon Alley this Christmas!
