Columbia Men's Straight Line Rain Jacket

Being an avid Adventurer and Hiker, I felt the need to purchase a light waterproof and windproof jacket. There were a lot of choices but I wanted something that was a good "value" as far as price and performance. It came down to Columbia. I believe it was featured on Slickdeals.net for a significant discount. That did the trick for me so I bought it. Here is my review.The Columbia Men's Straight Line Rain Jacket is a great Lightweight Jacket that keeps that cold wind off of your body and mostly keeps you dry in rain. However, If you wash the jacket a few times the Rain Resistance may not be as resilient.Overall I thing this is a nice jacket, BUT!These run a size big. Large is easily an xtra large and Medium is easily a large.So just keep that in mind for when you purchase the Columbia Straight Line Rain Jacket.I recommend this product for good quality, value and construction.Its a good buy!

This is another quality product from Columbia. This product does appear to be cut slightly larger than listed. I was happy with this as I'm closer to a 3X anyway. But be careful as this is not always the case. I have a similar jacket from them in another color and it came sized as expected.* Omni-tech seems to be sized as expected (in my experience)* Omni-shield seems to be sized slightly larger (in my experience)I specifically order this line now because I know it tends to come slightly over sized and I usually don't find their products online in 3X.

I bought this jacket as a rain jacket and as a jacket to wear when it is slightly chilly. I am highly impressed. It appears well made and I have already worn it in the rain twice and it worked great. I read that some reviewers were concerned with the size. I am 6 feet tall and weigh 200 lbs. I bought the large and it fits perfectly. It is a very thin jacket and I will definitely take this along when I go hiking as it can be rolled up into a space slightly larger then my fist. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a lightweight jacket/ rain jacket.

I had to buy this for my son because he kept borrowing my husband's to wear! Keeps you dry without making you hot and sweaty. Any article of clothing that a 15 year old and a 50 year old will wear is great in my book! Simple style! It fits true to size, if anything, slightly larger than expected. It has a nice straight fit. My son normally wears a medium and this has a roomy fit on him. The color is nice - we own both the black and blue. Columbia quality is great as always! A trusted brand!

Like most people mentioned, this jacket is fairly bigger than most jackets. I am in between Large and XL, and based on other comments, chose to get a large. The large itself is fairly big on me and wonder how the XL would have been had I not heeded to the other comments. Also, like some of the other noticed, it does not breathe very well. There are couple of breathing holes around the arm pits and such and those are the only air exchange points. So, should look at it purely as a rain jacket.

This is a nice jacket and the kind of quality that you expect from the Columbia brand. Bought it for my husband and he enjoys wearing it. It was purchased specifically to wear on our camping trips in the mountains where conditions can easily change. It worked well as both windbreaker and rain jacket for him. Mid-weight protection, but lightweight enough to pack and carry when not in use.

I bought this jacket on sale for $27. I needed a waterproof jacket and I couldn't be more thrilled with the purchase. This jacket keeps the water off of me and is very lightweight. The only negative I can say is that it doesn't breath as well as some rain jackets but I can hardly complain given the price.I am now watching for another sale so I can buy one for my father and wife. Great jacket.

I bought this jacket for a trip to Alaska. I didn't realize at the time that it packs down into a pocket making it great for travel. I have since used it on numerous camping trips. Last weekend I took it backpacking and while it, thankfully, didn't rain, I was able to use the rain jacket as a guard against dew on my pack and boots.This jacket is not only functional, it looks great!
