Very good, especially for the price.
At a great price like this, you are never quite sure if it will be any good. Well, I have had it on the car for quite some time now, and it has worked flawlessly. It made me realize just how bad my old fuel cap really was.

Failure after 2 weeks. Be aware that it might look different than older OEM gas caps.
In my case this was a perfect fit. And it is a spot-on match to the dealership's version of this part number. I bought it, not for a check engine light, but because I was picking up some gasoline smell around the vehicle. The gas cap might not have been the true cause -- time will tell -- but it's worth $11 to exclude the gas cap as the true cause.JFYI, this is a one-click-then-stops-firm gas cap.Be aware that this current part number, 77300-06040, has superseded a lot of other historical Toyota/Lexus OEM gas cap part numbers over the years. And so this part number, even if you procure it from a dealership, may not exactly match your OEM gas cap if your vehicle is older. The verbiage printed on the cap may differ, the tether style or length may differ, this is a one-click-then-stops-firm cap while your older OEM cap may be multi-click-continues-to-spin. But the fit/screw-on to your fuel tank neck WILL be correct. Also be aware the official list dealership price is about $22, but know that (1) some dealerships will quote prices significantly over the list price since they can and (2) sometimes a dealership will actually source, stock & sell non-OEM and/or gray-market parts that come in OEM Toyota packaging … in the case of certain non-critical commonly consumed parts (such as floor mats & wiper blades as examples) … just to enlarge their profit margin. So if you buy at the dealership, you might just snag an overpriced non-OEM gas cap anyway. And, yes, an end-of-life gas cap can throw an idiot "check engine light" to the dashboard. (Or sometimes a VSC traction control light.) It's actually a pretty common cause of that. The seals don't last forever, they dry out and fail, especially in hot and/or dry conditions. Or you may have chipped your gas cap seal ever so slightly if you accidentally let your cap drop hard to the ground. Or whatever. I drove out my last new vehicle, a 2006 Toyota Avalon Limited, to 15 years & 155k miles … and during that time I had to replace the gas cap twice because it failed and was throwing the check engine light. Btw, if the gas cap is doing that, and a new gas cap is installed and indeed solves the problem, the light will NOT immediately clear; it may take as much as two weeks of driving before the check engine light clears/resets on its own. If you are nice to the guy at the auto parts store (or tip him out), he might clear off the code/light for you for free. Officially, due to possible liability exposure, they are not supposed to clear codes/lights but, again, sometimes they will do it for you anyway.UPDATE: After a couple of weeks, the one-click-then-stops-firm function started to fail. It would BARELY click before stopping, so I wasn't sure I was getting a seal. I returned this gas cap to Amazon for refund. Then I broke down and bought one at the parts counter at my local Toyota dealership. Even though it looks exactly the same as the one I bought here on Amazon, the click function felt and sounded far more 'accurate.' The one from the dealership has held up without issue for several months now. My local Toyota dealership -- just as I predicted above -- charged me a good bit more than the official Toyota/Lexus list price -- just under $30.

Didn't work on late model FJ Cruiser.
Did not work on late model FJ Cruiser. Caused check engine light and EVAP leak code. Tether snapped like a twig when removing. Waste of time and money.
