Writer just purchased this item & it works fiiiiine! Try taking out french fries w/tongs or a fork & have 1 fall back in the oil & splatter all over U & the stove, not a good day. Now I scoop out whatever I'm cooking in 1 shot yeah! David E.

Nice sturdy spider basket. Handle is not sealed so will fill with wash water. Wisks I have like this end up mildewing inside the handle.

This is the best strainer!!!! Not too big for a smaller pot but big enough to lift out large amounts at a time. We love this compared to our old plastic one that melted into the food basically. We love it for boiling peanuts! Long handle so if you are frying you can stay safely away from the grease. Dishwasher safe.

Love this pasta strainer ladle! I'm very heat sensitive, so I like to use the ladle to jot only take pasta out of a pot after its finished cooking, but also to put the noodles into the boiling water so I'm less likely to splash myself with hot water.My old pasta strainer ladle was a little bit smaller, but it had a wooden handle that was starting to fall apart, and the metal had started to rust. That won't be an issue with this one since it is 100% stainless steel, no wood, and is dishwasher safe. Makes for easy cleanup on busy nights!The only thing to note, is that this particular size could be cumbersome for people who have a small kitchen without good storage since it does take up a fair amount of space. Worth it if you've got a spot for it though!
