There are a couple great holders below that require extra security measures to prevent ...
The screw that holds the security brackets to the base is not long enough to be stable and makes it very flimsy/wobbly. With very little effort you can knock it out of place and your expensive tablet will be broken can fall to the ground. Theft is the least of your concerns if the tablet can't stay attached to the stand. I've ordered over a half dozen different types of security holders. They each approach the problem a little differently so ultimately you have to consider your application. This device might provide security, but there's no point in buying it's not durable. Another thing to keep in mind is that some holder have fixed angles so you can't tilt your tablet up or down to adjust the viewing angle. In the $50 price range there appears to be limited options. There are a couple great holders below that require extra security measures to prevent theft. Beyond this you'll need to start looking into enclosures which are generally over $100 - $200....Maclocks HoverTab Universal Security Display Stand for Tablets and Smartphones - good, but fixed viewing angle and you need to permanently attach a security lock to your tabletAboveTEK Elegant Tablet Stand, Aluminum iPad Stand Holder, Desktop Kiosk POS Stand for 6-13 inch iPad Pro Air Mini Galaxy Tab Nexus, Tablet Mount for Store Showcase Office Reception Kitchen Countertop - solid, offers versatile viewing angles, but no built in securityAboveTEK Heavy Duty Aluminum Gooseneck iPad Holder, Cell Phone Desk Mount Tablet Holder iPad Stand for Office Kitchen Bed, Fits 3.5"-10" iPad Pro Air Mini & Mobile iPhone 7 6 5, Strong & Flexible Arm - solid, great applications, but no built in security

Photo booth iPad holder
I removed the hand strap (reveals a 1/4-20 socket) and attached a quick-release plate for an inexpensive tripod ball head. That was attached to a superclamp, which I attached to a light stand. Add one 9.7" iPad and Instant photo booth, solid and secure! It comes with several optional foam "shims" to ensure a non-wobbly fit and no scratches to your tablet. This also helps because you won't get to the last "click" and may need that little extra bit of travel (just before the next click) to push inward and compress the grip while you push in the release. Be sure to do this in a place which would minimize the risk of damage should the tablet fall (in other words, BE CAREFEUL!).The cable is quite long. Perhaps 2m or a little more? It was just the right length more my application, with the tablet at camera-height and the loop around the legs of the stand, with no extra cable to coil, just attached with velcro straps to the light stand with the other cables. Typical kensington-style T-lock with a freezer key.Yes, if someone really wanted your iPad, they would only have to snap off a corner, but you won't stop that person with any measures, so if you are using this in such an environment, this may not be your solution. For an event or situation where it may be unattended but others may be in the room (with a potential theif) then the presence of the cable itself is a significant deterrant..

Works well enough
Works well enough. It is secure. We screwed it down. The steel security cable is of nice quality. But it has a few issues. The clamping mechanism took some time to configure, using the foam pads to create the right fit for our 12.9” iPad Pro. We had to remove the iPad from it normal protective case to mount it. The case is a thin one. My thought is that it should fit with it.The rotation feature is nice, but it doesn’t hold well. I have to align it past the position I want and it will settle back a bit. Takes a few tries to get it to line up landscape properly. When it is rotated to landscape, it isn’t center side-to-side over the base. The bigger the iPad, the worse the offset.

Update: See comments; Ok, functional stand.
It may work ok with smaller iPads, but it doesn't work with 12" iPad Pro even though their spec shows it does. It will fit a large tablet, but it doesn't hold the weight of it. It cannot balance the weight of a large tablet such as iPad Pro 12" and always tilts onto one side. The problem started only 2-3 days after we started using it. Unfortunately I bought it and didn't set it up for a few weeks, so by the time we realized it didn't work, we couldn't return it because it's out of return period. We contacted the company asking if there's any way to fix it, they asked for a photo. So we sent them photos, but received no further communication from them! Not only a bad product, they provide no service. We tried to tighten the screws on the back but didn't really help. Do not bother with this for large tablets.UPDATE Nov. 2016: Due to the loose pivot, seller, after a delay, provided a replacement from the manufacturer at no charge. I am happy with the replacement, although the issue continues to a lesser extent. The stand is not designed to properly accommodate the weight of the iPad Pro, but is functional.

Very nice!
This is a very well-made, serious piece of equipment. I love the way it rotates and swivels back and forth. There really isn't much to the assembly process. I'm using it with a 7" Samsung Galaxy Tab. The locking arm doesn't quite close enough to completely cinch the tablet but everything is still secure. I plan on using a larger tablet soon anyway. There are holes in base, allowing you to screw/bolt it in place. I prefer to use the security rope, though. The angle of the base was a little too steep for my application but the metal is flexible enough that I was able to bend it down a bit without much effort. Will probably buy a couple more of these!

best kiosk type stands
I was looking for a Kiosk type of stand for a while now and these seemed to be the best bang for my buck. i have purchased over 20 of them and love them. they come with a key and some felt pads to put on the stand itself for different thickness tablets. i have used this with the samsung tab A and verizon ellipsis 8 tablet. i have mounted them to the wall and to the tabletop and they offer a great deal of security. will be buying more of these when i need them.

Solid secure tablet holder for the price
I purchased this as a damaged warehouse item and was pleasantly surprised that it only had one 1/2in scratch on it but everything else was as good as new. The instructions that came with were graphically for another type of tablet holder but it was not overly complicated to figure out within a couple of minutes. Currently I have an Amazon Fire HD 8in tablet in it but am planning on upgrading to a 10in tablet soon. We were planning on using the camera to scan documents after a customer filled out a waiver but the security device on the back gets in the way of the camera. A way to get around that is to use the front facing camera but it is slightly awkward.Overall, this was a fantastic deal as a damaged product ($12). I am sceptical about its value at the current original price around $75 but now that I have used it, I would probably be comfortable with the full price unit as well since the majority of the secure tablet holders are more often over $100.

Works as advertised
works as advertised. Clamped in an ipad mini, and it'll stay there till i take it out. No need to worry about people stealing it, assuming you lock it properly with the included wirings. The only thing to say bad about this, is that it said there is an "extra spacer" in the instructions, but it was not included. After checking out how big it opens, and and small, i dont think you'll have an issue locking any tablet down, assuming you do without a case.I do wish in the future they include a way to lock the charging cable in too.

Good Value for Money
This works well and secures your device at a reasonable price. The only draw back is the that the SIM card slot for an IPAD remains exposed so someone can theoretically remove the SIM card and essentially remove the wireless connection to the device. If you are not concerned about that, this is a great purchase. Shipping was fast and product was well packaged. you should be aware that I bought this products for business and have since purchased 6 of these with no complaints.

Broken
I gotta say this products feels like heavy quality sutff, it feels heavy and study but the flap that is supposed to lock the ipad in place just broke off. It literally came off like cheap plastic. If they dont refund my money, I woudlnt recomend working with this product.
