Ellestad's Stress Testing: Principles and Practice

Favorite Stress Testing Book
I purchased this book just a couple of months after it was published, and I have to say that it is the best textbook I have seen on stress testing. Every chapter is exceptionally well-written and evidence based. The review of the literature is truly impressive. Perhaps from a more technical standpoint, two things that I found to be incredible are that 1) there are no inconsistencies in interpretation of the literature or in recommendations in any of the chapters, and 2) every chapter exhibits the same flow and style. Both are hallmarks of meticulous editing - no easy feat in a textbook with different authors for every chapter. I use Ellestad's most current version as required and supplemental reading in our rotation for stress testing and would strongly recommend it to anyone looking to learn or looking for reading assignments for trainees.

Glad for this new edition.
I do stress testing every (working!) day. Ellestad's last edition has been my Bible. This edition has given me much UTD info. So glad for it.

Great book for clinicians
Very informative book and a much needed update from previous editions. It is well written and covers all of the topics that anyone who is interested in stress testing should know. It makes a particularly good job of bringing the reader up to speed on the latest state-of-the-art developments.Exercise ECG tests are still the most widely used first-line tests for patients with suspected ischemic heart disease, the leading cause of death worldwide for both men and women. Although guidelines recommend stress ECG tests, it is not rare to see cardiologists who prefer various imaging tests instead. A more comprehensive use of everything that ECG has to offer, as described in this book, can improve healthcare by minimizing risks for patients while lowering costs at the same time.
