3M MEDIPORE Soft Cloth Surgical Tape

This is a wonderful bandage tape. It's breathable yet sticks well and stays in place. Yet at the same time it is easily removable without hurting. I had a wound from a surgery the size of a nickel about 1/2 inch deep, very painful. Using this surgical tape with Manuka honey has made a difference within a day. I was told my wound needs to seep to heal. The tape allows this because it is breathable and the easy application and removable I can change my dressing several times a day.

I first purchased it in 2021 and repurchased A FEW TIMES. This is a HIGH QUALITY tape with excellent adhesive, but is NOT PAINFUL to remove. Its functionality is great because of the PERFORATIONS TO REMOVE EACH PIECE OF TAPE, BUT YOU CAN USE LONGER STRIPS DEPENDING ON YOUR NEEDS. YOU decide the length. Paper tape doesn’t even come close, and this is a tape YOU CAN TRUST TO STAY ON. The size of the roll is quite big and it’s worth the price, which I found fair for such a quality item. AS A NURSE, I BUY THIS TAPE WHEN ITS NEEDED ON A PATIENT. I would highly recommend it without reservation!

This surgical tape is good. It sticks pretty good, it is flexibe and when you want to take it off it does not rip off your skin.

I use this to keep my mouth closed during sleep. It will prevent snoring, and facilitate using a nasal pillow mask type CPAP , to ease sleep Apnea. I like the 3 inch width, with the perforations every 2inches I can tear off a piece 3" x 4", which is perfect to seal my mouth closed. The breathable tape allows small amount of air to escape, but it is negligible. Before I used the 2" Medipore, and had trouble keeping my mouth sealed all night. The 3" is fantastic for this application.

I use this tape at least once a week, or more, to help secure my lidocaine patches on my back. Anyone who uses lidocaine patches knows how much of a huge pain in the butt they can be to successfully keep on for long periods of time — especially if you need to put a patch on a location that moves a lot, like a knee or elbow. Thanks to this awesome tape, I can keep the patches on for as long as I need! As mentioned in the title, you dont need scissors to use this tape. That is probably the biggest “pro” for me, as I (like many other households) often cannot find any of the multiple pairs of scissors I buy. You dont really “need” scissors because the tape is already perforated, kind of like a roll of paper towel. The perforation is nice as it allows for you to get consistent sizes/lengths and you can also customize the length or amount you need. For example, you might need one big piece, or a bunch of individual pieces. I will say that the individual pieces of tape are a bit bigger (taller) than your standard paper tape or durapore tape, but you kind of need that if you are securing something (like a gauze pad) to your skin. The tape pieces are decently sticky, but occasionally I do notice they can sometimes struggle a bit to firmly adhere to the skin. Occasionally, I will notice that the tape is no longer flush against my skin. I can easily press it back on, but the “gaping” isnt always noticed right away and can lead to the tape sticking to my clothes instead. I would note that the tape “not fully sticking” does *not* happen every single time I use the tape. Given this, I chose to only remove one star from the overall product rating. On the bright side, I have not noticed any significant pain when I try to remove the tape. At least, the pain is nowhere near the pain experienced with other tape brands I have used — you know, the ones that feel like it is literally taking a layer of your skin off when you go to remove it! The last “pro” I will mention for this product is that the non-sticky side (outside) of the tape is pretty soft. This is very helpful if you need to place a piece of the tape in an area that might rub against other skin, like the back of a knee.

This tape is great for holding nicotine patches in place. The 3" width is perfect for cutting a 3" square. Stays on even through a shower (I avoided washing it). It is flexible, breathable and it stays on until you pull it off. Painless when you pull it off. Just what I was looking for. Thank you 3M.

The only medical tape that sticks. Will not use any other brand. When my husband was in a nursing home I brought it in for his nurses to use because whatever they had in stock didn't work.
