Disappointing
As a bit of a coffee connoisseur (as in addict) I thought I’d try these as a way of saving some money. They arrived loosely thrown in a box and most of the pods were bulging and pressurised as if they’re off or something. The bulging actually made it difficult to get them into the machine. Coffee was hardly drinkable- very very bitter. Had to return them.

Okay
The coffee is okay, but certainly of lesser quality than Lavazza. Often I have to use two pods and this defeats the purpose of trying to save money. Would not buy again and will spend the extra on Lavazza.

Fork out for the branded ones...
Unfortunately these just aren't as good as the on-brand capsules. The flavour is 'thin' (not a great description I know) and very bitter.... Also the compression inside the capsules is a bit off which means the machine doesn't push through as smoothly, not sure that this affects the flavour but with some of the capsules were inconsistent in strength.I'll just buy the branded ones from now on.

Great value and taste good.
Great value coffee pods that fit my lavazza modo mío well. Intenso is a what I would call a medium strength coffee, not that intense, but has a decent flavour. Delivered in a rustic box without reams of packaging which is good. Not compostible, which I didn’t notice, so that may be a consideration for you, but other than that we are really happy with them.

Good coffee with a surprise
I was pleased with these pods, liked the coffee. One thing that I'm surprised by though: in my machine (a Lavazza Modo Mio Jolie), it dispenses *a lot* of coffee - one full (large) mug using these - as opposed to the standard ⅓ (standard size) mug with the Lavazza branded pods. Given I end up having to stand over the machine for the second press of the bottom to make the long black coffee I drink first thing (my machine dispenses until the reservoir is dry, or you stop it, on the second press), this works for me (although means I have to stand over the machine if I'm after a flat white).Oh, and my pods were just gold foil and red foil tops, so don't really know which is which...Would recommend these - just make sure you don't leave your machine unsupervised to make the first cup!

Very weak & lacking in flavour
I was looking forward with trying Black Donkey Coffee Roasters - 50 Lavazza A Modo Mio Compatible Capsules (VARIETY PACK) but was very disappointed with the coffee. For a fresh coffee experience this is one brand not to try. Rather than trying to use up the capsules I would rather have the opportunity to return the product.

At first it’s pot luck..
The coffee tastes good and the value is great. However, the pods have no labelling so you can’t tell what is what, they have different coloured lids but no guide or markings to works out the strengths etc. Fine for me as I really like strong or mellow coffee but my partner has had a few he doesn’t like - guess we know for next time. Would buy them again though.

Disappointingly insipid.
Unlike the picture on Amazon, the capsules were unbranded and came loose in a box, that didn’t look new. The first one seemed to fit my Lavazza machine, and I set off to make this much-hyped strong Robusta coffee. What a disappointment! I was expecting something akin to the sort of coffee served in Turkey, but the taste was insipid, lacking both body and flavour. So, for my next effort I made a latte. Again, the result was weak and flavourless. In future, I’ll stick to my lovely Lavazza Eco pods.
