Bro fr I have not seen this movie since I was like...uh, 12? I think. I was having a movie night with friends, and we've been fixated on Veggie Tales for some reason, so rather than some gore p-rn horror movie, we watched this piece of distinct childhood nostalgia. I honestly forgot how much of a quality piece of film this is, and I feel that I have a better appreciation for it now that I am a legal adult. For kids? Is a kid gonna know what the hell Radio Shack is? TiVo? Edward Scissorhands? This is a peak film for adults, but not in a sexual way. If I could have the experience of watching this movie for the first time as an adult, I would genuinely cry tears of joy at the beauty that is "The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything: A VeggieTales Movie." I truly think this is better than The Pirates of the Caribbean, Titanic, and The Godfather--in fact if all three were combined into some super mega film--"The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything: A VeggieTales Movie" would win a million times over. You have to have an extremely high IQ to understand the distinct nuances of this piece of art, I'm literally shaking with joy as I write this review. My very soul has ascended to the heavens above because of this beautiful piece of Christian entertainment. God himself weeps at the beauty of the progeny of his own creation. Watch this before you die, I implore. You cannot enter heaven if you haven't seen this, or at least you won't enter heaven truly fulfilled. Please, do it for your own self-betterment and for God above. This made me not need therapy anymore, I've been cured of mental illness. Shout out to my home slice lil Jeezy. Release the director's cut, NOW!!!!!!!! Peace and love, and I do in fact want to waltz with potatoes up and down that righteous produce isle in the sky. Amen.

Ideal for young children and young at heart

If you don't know VeggieTales this is a good one to start with. When my older kids were teenagers they even enjoyed this. VeggieTales the older ones especially are great for kids and enjoyable for everyone

I'm writing this because of all the reviews that say this isn't a typical Veggie Tales movie because there is no Christian message. It's all through it and the King explains an allegory at the end. People can't see the forest for the trees. Entertaining and funny, like always.

Once again I am quite impressed with those folks at Big Idea. They have made ANOTHER movie that my 3.5 year old son and I can both enjoy. There are always little tidbits in the tales that make us "adults" chuckle.Santa brough my son a wooden sword (which I'm still not sure was a great idea) so he helps during some tense scenes and tried to get those bad guys. For some reason I find the "Evil Cheese" to be absolutely hilarious. I'm not sure why but it just cracks me up.I also LOVE the fact that there is a video included in the special feature for "Rock Monster". Since I'm a HUGE B-52's fan I loved it from the second I heard it. My son loves it - even though at this point he has only had the movie 1 day he already has the "Rock Monster" song memorized. My little cheesy music genius.If you want a movie you can watch with your children and not worry about questionable content while still enjoying a Veggie Action Flick you MUST get this movie.

...if you are a boy of 6 or 3 years old! I felt compelled to write a review as one of the two already written was bad! I think I have EVERY Disney/Pixar DVD that has been made and I have never heard my boys laugh more at any film, or want to watch a film over and over again! I have no idea about the Christian message history with these characters so was not looking out for any message! A vegetable being chased by "cheese curls" with teeth is funny... "I'm going to be eaten by my favourite snack!" has my boys rolling in the aisles! ...try it!

This may not be the typical veggie tale product. I quote from the introductory information from Amazon. 'Veggie tales...uses its silly produce protagonists and their high-seas hi-jinks to instill themes of courage and assertiveness in its young viewers. Those looking for the blatant Biblical themes that are usually present in the popular video series may be slightly disappointed by their absence, but the VeggieTales characters still manage to convey plenty of positive messages amidst their exploits.'It is funny, entertaining and has some great music, great animation and great one liners.My 3 year old loves it and has watched it over and over again. Come to think of it so have I, and I am not yet tired of it.Not as high end as Disney and Pixar, but very good viewing and very good value for money.Highly recommended.

Our family loves veggie tales. Great lessons and value.

We first saw part of this film on TV- but didn't see it all and it wasn't repeated :-(Grandson (aged 2 1/2) really seemed to like it- so I turned to Amazon and found it.Surprised by the array of veggie tales- mostly of Bible story nature-However this one isn't- it's a tale of pirates- and my grandson loves it-It helps that he is heavily into pirates and so suits him down to the ground!
