Perfect!
I did a lot of research before buying this - I wanted to make sure that I got a laptop desk that would protect me from the heat of my laptop but also be comfortable in the sometimes-strange positions I sit in bed or on the couch. I was a little wary about this one after reading a few reviews about laptops slipping on the surface, but I decided to try it out. I am so pleased with this!! Not only is it comfortable, but I can sit with legs out straight, curled underneath me or put this on the table and the laptop is always at a perfect angle. Also, I feel NO heat and my laptop gets extremely hot. Although the surface is shiny and smooth, my laptop has never even started to slip. Overall, I could not have asked for a better laptop desk! FYI, I have a 17" Powerbook G4.

Simply the BEST lapdesk around. Well worth the price.
I'm a software developer and I work full time from home, often switching back and forth between my office, the recliner in my bedroom, the bed, and a lawn chair on the porch. I have found this lapdesk to be indispensable. This lapdesk is incredibly comfortable on your legs, and I've just been amazed at how well it works. I use it with a 13" Macbook Air, but prior to my Air I used it for a few months with a 15" Macbook Pro. It fit both very well. I love this so much that I bought one for my wife, and ended up buying one for a friend as a gift as well. Not only does it make working on your lap much more comfortable, but because of the hard surface and the little rubber pads that elevate your laptop, it also increases airflow under your machine, thereby improving performance of your machine as well. I can't speak highly enough about this lapdesk. It is seriously clutch. I've even used it for working when I ride in the car. It is TEH AWESOMESAUCE. Get it - you won't be sorry.

Great and simple solution
After reading all the reviews here, I was nervous about ordering this product. I did hours of research on this product and others and I determined that this was simply the best design. Then I got it, used it for about a week now, and I frankly don't understand why there's so much bad said about it. Simply put, it's just a great and well-thought product. Let me start by addressing the poor ratings... "Laptop Slides All Over" - My laptop has rubber feet on the bottom. Even at steep angles, it doesn't move. I can't speak for the Macbooks - maybe they don't have the rubber feet (and that's not a design flaw of this product), but included in the package are rubber feet that can be stuck to the surface of the desk to stabilize the laptop. They would work quite well. Someone stated that the rubber pads would negate the products use as a writing surface. To that I say: "It's not a writing surface. It's a laptop computer desk. That shouldn't be a concern." "Not a mousing surface" - no it's not. It's much too small to use your mouse, even with the smallest laptops. But again, I dont' think it's intended for that. So I don't consider that a concern. "Warping surface" - Granted, I've only used it for a couple of days, but I don't feel that my laptop is going to warp it. it doesn't flex in the least. Larger, heavier laptop owners (some of those Alienware Beasts, perhaps) may find this to be a little less sturdy. But my laptop - about 5 lbs - doesn't seem to create any problems. Comfort - this is a matter of preference, and so I don't know that I can say anything to necessarily counteract the previous reviews. Personally, I find it comfortable. The curvature of the underside leaves a nice gap which, in my opinion, helps with airflow and inevitably makes it more comfortable for me. I can see where some might feel that it puts a lot of pressure closer to the knees, but I don't find it uncomfortable. What's more, the curvature is a nice feature when I want to sit legs folded. It's also nice when I'm sitting in bed or sitting with my legs out, the curvature actually fits over my knees quite comfortably for when I want to stretch out or simply watch a movie on my laptop. And from an ergonomic point of view, the angle really makes a huge difference in terms of comfort. All in all, I think it's a great product.

great lapdesk
I have a 15 inch laptop and this desk has enough room for it with about two inches on each side (i.e. not enough room for a mouse unless it's really tiny). The best thing is the included rubber "feet" that go under the laptop make your laptop stay put incredibly well. I can turn the desk to at least a 45 degree angle before it starts sliding. The surface feels really sturdy, and the padding is really quite comfortable. I used to have a wooden lapdesk that had the beads in the padding and I like the more solid padding alot better. It also stands on its side which isn't necessary but is a great bonus. There's a nice hole in the middle of the padding that lets air under the desk and keeps the heat away from your lap. Pros: Durable Laptop doesn't slide Comfortable durable padding Keeps heat away from your lap Stands on its side for easy storage next to couch/chair Cons: Not big enough for mouse if you want to use an external mouse

Super comfy lapdesk!
I recently purchased a new laptop after over 8 years of using nothing but a desktop. As I was looking for accessories, I came across lapdesks and immediately realised how useful it would be. The reviews for the logitech comfort lapdesk were very good so I ordered it within 2 days of my new laptop arriving. I have to say that it is awesome. Very comfortable, quite light, and no issues with my laptop sliding on the smooth surface. I have a Dell Inspiron 14R and there is room to spare on this model. I think you could easily use a 15 inch laptop with this. I do find that it keeps the heat off my legs and, overall, it makes sitting with your laptop for hours so much more comfortable. Now that I have tried it, I wouldn't be without it. I definitely recommend this product to anyone who finds their legs sore or uncomfortably hot when using their laptop. It's well made and easy to slide under the coffee table, or rest by the sofa, when not in use. Overall, just a fantastic concept and product.

Great and annoying at the same time!
I love the build, it's fantastic. However this permanent angle can become problematic. For example, when I'm sitting on the floor, couch, or my bed it's nice when it's on my lap. It's comfortable with my legs straight, or sitting (I'm sorry if this is politically incorrect) indian style. The angle is very complimentary. However, sometimes I wanna lay down and use my laptop. Laying on my side it work, but laying on my stomach with the computer directly in front of me, makes for a cramped neck. Or when I have my laptop on the floor and I'm sitting in front of it, cross legged or open legged. extremely difficult to type on. The angle becomes too aggressive. It faces downward too much. So in those situations, I either take it off, turn it so the angle is backwards (the mouse pad is at the upper most part of the lapdesk rather than the lowest part), or rest the lower part of the lapdesk on my feet or prop it up using a pillow. What would make this product better is if the angle could be adjusted. That would make for a better experience IMO. $50 is a lot of money for this item. It's quality is top notch, it's good! But at the end of the day, I am not 100% satsified and perhaps I'll look for an alternative. For now, I'll keep it and use it.

Beware, normal price is under $30, don't get ripped off. Great lapdesk when priced right!!!
Beware of sellers trying to sell products at wildly inflated prices! This lapdesk is a great example (well, as of now - perhaps someone reasonable will resume selling it at a normal price again) This is a great , basic laptop desk, I've had mine for 5+ years and with almost daily use it is still in fine condition. I find the open area without cushion does seem to allow for increased cooling and my laptop never gets overheated. I'm more of a business user, but I do occaisionally play minecraft with my daughter and it's a resources intensive game that often engages the internal cooling but my laptop never reaches a heat level to compromise it's speed or processing ability (note: I'm using an Asus Zen, Core i5 with SSD - no old style harddrive) My husband has one of these lapdesks too, but he tends to use more a basic, flat logitech one Logitech Portable Lapdesk N315, Peacock Blue (939-000308) , that is also being sold at an inflated value by marketplace sellers (we paid less thant $30 for that style also). Both of these lapdesks are great, very durable, and have sold for under $30 on average over the past few years - my teen daughter has bought a few different styles of lapdesks and in doing so these two are always included in the search results so we've noticed the continued average pricing. She bought, and also tends to use most, the flat one my husband likes because she often uses a mouse and it has the pull out mouse pad. As of today 8-31-16 the main listing for this lapdesk, which is by a marketplace seller using Amazon delivery is trying to sell it for $226.00!!! It drives me crazy when people artificially jack up the prices because there is low inventory or something has been discontinued. I don't know what the case is for this lapdesk but it is not worth an extra $200. The same goes for the flat one mentioned above - it's not worth an extra $50 - 100 either. There are plenty others in the $30 range that are just as good - these logitech lapdesks are not magical, they don't have super-powers, and therefore are not worth paying crazy inflated prices to overly greedy sellers.

Comfortable, but you may have to customize a little
The good: Very comfortable, sets my 17" HP laptop at the perfect height and angle. The ample padding also insulates me from the laptop's heat, which is important because this thing gets HOT at times. The bad: Is partly HP's fault, but an issue nevertheless: This beast actually ran a few degrees hotter on the lapdesk than on my lap. A little experimentation showed that there isn't enough airflow under the machine while on the desk to cool it adequately under load. I tried some rubber feet to lift the laptop up off the desk a little, but they destabilized the laptop and didn't seem to make much difference cooling-wise. My eventual solution was to take a Dremel tool to the desk to open some airflow holes right under the laptop's intake. Problem solved. The ugly: Just a little expensive for what you get. All in all, however, the pluses solidly outweigh the minuses. My wife promptly commandeered my first desk, and I bought another to replace it. We both love them. Five stars.
