Nice proper grinder. Easy to fill and the grind size adjustment is easy to use. Only thing I’d suggest is get rid of the stickers. Hard to remove and left a lot is residue. Had to use the peanut butter trick to remove it.

I had one of those old wooden pepper mills that had a retaining nut on the top that also functioned as a coarseness adjustment - and you could never get an even grind. The mill was always awkward to refill and I had to place the mill in a ramekin because loose pepper would leak from the bottom all over the countertop. After several years use the nut became loose, the threads began stripping so nut wouldn't lock tighten. I've never been satisified with the amount of pepper the mill held, it seemed like I was refilling the thing too often - and I use a normal amount of pepper to season. So I went online shopping for a new pepper mill. After having such good experiences with other Oxo products I needed to look no further than the Oxo Good Grips Pepper Grinder. The features I like are: the body of the mill is clear acrylic so that you can always see how much pepper is in the mill; it holds nearly five ounces of pepper (two and a half times my old mill); the mill, like all the Oxo products I've purchased, is ergonomically designed - it fits well in your hand; an ingenious design feature is that the mill sits on it's base, not where the ground pepper comes out, that way the pepper doesn't get all over your countertop; it is also very easy to refill, again from the base which has a cap that unscrews leaving a wide mouth that is easy to fill with peppercorns and not have them roll all over the kitchen; there are five (5) coarseness adjustments made by simply moving a lever from a small dot (very fine) up to a large dot (very coarse), as a bonus Oxo provides peppercorns in your mill - so it will be a while before you'll have to refill. I love to cook and appreciate when the tools I have to work with are so well made and actually do the job they are intended for, I have found that every Oxo product fits that bill. Another big bonus with Oxo products is the price, they are very reasonable for their quality. My experiences with Oxo products have been so good I will not even consider any other manufacturer of kitchen products.

The product itself is STELLAR and works quite exactly as described and touted, so SATISFYING something is hard, works, and is very easy to operate and clean and adjust the coarseness of the pepper, and easier to refill than others. One thing: Why put a super-sticky-can't-be-removed sticker on it so the pleasure of a nice product is marred as one scrapes and scrapes the glue, never to be removed? After all, there is no THEFT PROBLEM, right? Get it anyway, it is extremely good.

The BEST pepper mill on the market. I've tried a dozen different brands and this one beats them all. OXO is brilliant in how they designed this. The grinder is at the top so you don't have to wipe pepper from underneath it. The grind is excellent! it's the first mill that actually can do a fine grind to perfection. It's attractive and a very good buy. I highly recommend! And it comes full of peppercorns!

Very good kitchen tool.

I first encountered this grinder while I was taking a cooking class. I'm a novice cook and would say that I give my cooking gear moderate-to-heavy use these days. I can say that the cooking school where I took my class is always packed so they get very heavy use there, from students of varying skill levels. Before this mill, I had been used to the usual wooden style grinders where you turn the cap to grind your pepper. The OXO grinder is very easy to use and does not take much strength to turn the mill, which I would say makes it well suited to cooks who don't have a strong grip. The mill itself has a rubberized grip, making it easy to use if your hands happen to be slick from other cooking activities. It also makes it easy to clean. The grinder stores base down. The base, where you twist the mill, is wider then the top, where the pepper is dispensed, so it's pretty stable on the counter if you need to put it down. Although mine hasn't taken a tumble onto our tile floor yet, a couple of them did fall during my cooking class and they survived each time unscathed. One of the features I like about this grinder is the grind coarseness selector. There are five different coarseness settings from fine, where I tend to keep it, to coarse, which I've used for some specific recipes. The labeling of these settings uses dots, small to large, which I find intuitive. I'm not sure how the labels are actually inscribed onto the mill although it looks like they might be etched. If so, then that's a good thing since you don't need to worry about the labels wearing off over time. The coarseness selector is easy to move when you want to, but is stiff enough that it's unlikely to move by itself or through accidental jostling. The grinder has a good-sized capacity, although I haven't tried to figure out exactly what it is. At the base of the unit is a plastic screw-on cap that grants you access to the pepper supply. The unit arrives full, and it's easy to add more -- simply unscrew the base cap, add your peppercorns, and then screw the cap back in. The cap twists in about three turns, so it's secure. It's possible that folks with weak fingers might find it difficult to untwist that cap, but I can't say for certain. I prefer this style to those with the pop-out rubber cap -- I've had those come out unexpectedly on me a few too many times to be comfortable with them. All in all this pepper mill has been a pleasure to use both in and out of class. I'm hopeful that it will give me many more years of use.

I have one of these for salt, and it’s well built, works well, looks great It’s easy to fill, it’s transparent and has a great brushed steel finish. I decided I want the matching pepper corn crusher too, and found that it was cheaper when I bought a set , in a fancy black metal. So I bought those- meh, not the same, I kept holding back for months and finally got this, and now I’m satisfied. So, go for this, Oxo good grips almost always has given me a good product and this is one of their better ones. It works well, looks great and is easy to maintain. Buy this one- in brushed steel, don’t get the black metal finish that is cheaper when you buy a set, you’ll thank me later.

What an excellent kitchen must have! I had a battery operated peppermill before and it was messy, pepper every where on the counter, luckily it broke. I decided to go manual it has a matching salt set and it's great to use at the dinner table when you have guests. It still looks fancy but very practical and a very good price. The grip is excellent. Watched many YouTube reviews before buying it glad I did, use it everyday.
