Outstanding tool. Very impressed by the quality
Very impressed by this tool. Aside from its size, which seems necessary for a tool that exerts as much force as this one does, this is a wonderful tool (like other reviewers have noted, the tool can't get into very cramped corners because the arms need to be opened close to 180 degrees to allow the jaws to fit around the pex with the crimp ring). For very cramped corners, I would suggest simply using a slip fitting instead (I had to do this on a join in the junction between a wall cavity & a support beam...The go/no-go tool was indispensible for checking crimps after compression. By the end of the job, I needed to tighten the tension on the arms by 1 point (going from 0 --> 1) in order to have each join pass the go/no-go gauge on the first try.I crimped close to 60 joins, some 1/2, 3/4 and 1" joins. After air pressure testing it for 2 hours, I found no leaks whatsoever. To help lining up the crimp ring, it seems easier to rest one of the jaws on the ring while closing the arms. Once the arms have mild tension on them, the crimp ring doesn't move.

Excellent tool, best for the job.
When we began replacing plumbing in the house we just bought, I started looking at the pex piping as a possible system to replace the hodge-podge of copper, galvanized and pvc water supply piping. I researched the connectors and really liked the ideas and reviews I was getting from the crimped-ring connection. The Apollo tool kept coming up as a front-runner for me, so I bit the bulllet and purchased one, before any real plumbing really even started. From the first crimp, I could tell it was a quality product. Easy to change the head to a different size. Blow-mold case is nice to keep the kit together. Mine was set correctly for me, out of the box, no adjustments. only complaint is that it is hard to use in a tight spot, with how far the jaws have to open to get it around the tubing. That limits the use in close-quarters. It just made me plan better to make those connections first and work away from the tight connections. The crimper is easy to use, excellent quality, and would make a good addition to any tool collection that does not have a pex crimper.

Big but worked well
This tool worked great for me. I only used 3/4" and 1/2" but the jaws were easy to put in and take out. The go/no go gauge is about the cheapest thing on the market...I had no idea if I got it right or not....finally just stopped checking. I just crossed my fingers when I turned on the water and had zero leaking fittings, so I must have done something right. The tool is large and a bit clumsy which is why I gave it only 4 stars....hard in dark spaces to see if you have it on the crimp ring right...and the tool is so large, sometimes it doesn't fit in the area you need to make a crimp, so plan ahead.

A Tool for All Your Pex Sizes
I already had a tool to crimp Pex rings in 1/2 and 3/4 sizes, but I'm now starting to use 1" Pex as well. Even though I could have purchased a stand alone tool for use of 1" Pex, why would I want to carry yet another tool? I wasn't really familiar with the Apollo brand, I was willing to try it since it did have a lot of positive reviews.I can't say too much about it because it just goes about its business without a struggle. The case it comes in could be of a higher quality, but I'll deal with that when it does fail. Who knows? I might be surprised.Thank you Apollo for adding another useful tool to my collection.

Great PEX Crimp tool worked great!
I used the Apollo PEX Multi-Head Crimp Tool Kit for 1", 3/4" and 1/2" PEX tubing. I replaced the old corroded steel water lines in my entire house with PEX. This tool make the job very simple and quick, also at a much lower cost than using the push in type couplings. This tool worked great on every crimp with ZERO leaks. I used the go/no go gauge to check every crimp. This is a manual operated tool, it requires moderate amount of arm strength to produce the completed crimp. It is easy to change the dies in this tool. Two small screws need to be loosened with the provided wrench when removing the dies. Included in the kit is a package with two spare screws. The crimp tool kit came in a very useful plastic storage case that makes it great to keep all the parts together for safe storage. For anyone that needs to make more than a couple of PEX connections this tool kit is a good investment.

Does its job well.
This tool does its job well. The case is nice. The gauge is handy for knowing that each copper ring has been crimped to the proper tightness (not too tight or too loose). The dies can be changed easily. The black paint on my dies came off on the parts where they contact the copper crimp rings as I used them more, but this did not affect the quality of the results. There is now no paint left on the parts that contact the copper rings.

After crimping a few rings first thing I noticed is that the ring is not perfect rounded. It is somewhat a very slightly ovular
Bought this long ago and didn't get a chance to use it until now. After crimping a few rings first thing I noticed is that the ring is not perfect rounded. It is somewhat a very slightly ovular shape, so the go-no-go gauge could measure just right on one position, but if you rotate the pipe 90 degrees, the measurement may differ a little bit because the ring is not perfect circle. I contacted the manufacturer regarding the slightly oval ring shape, they basically said it was normal. After all, there are no leaks at all with all the connections I made with this tool.
