Review: This is so well made. Excellent features. - I like this style of case for iPads because they give me the most flexibilty. I like how there is essentially a stand built in. I like how you can fold it back to hold and read if you read that way. I might like best how you can hold it sideways (this type of case) and let the cover hang down and provide support so the ipad it self is at a good level for reading without you holding it up or out. It can rest on your lap but really on the cover hanging down which puts the ipad itself at a better height. This one has some extra nice features. Yes, it's a little bulky. It's vastly more protective than many, and that is most of that, but it's also got a thicker cover/case material. I don't really love that but it's not really heavy stuff. There are surely lighter cases but not lighter ones that will protect your iPad from a fall. This is very protective. Best feature of all to me is the built in pencil holder for the iPad mini 5. It's perfect. The pencil is snuggly held but comes out easily to use it. It's a smart design. I have only had this for a short bit but I am very pleased with it in every aspect, so far. I highly recommend this case. Review: exceeded my expectations - My ipad mini 5 fits snugly into the slightly soft TPU inner case of the HFcoupe. I have no worry about it popping out, even under impact, and all of the ports and controls are easily accessible through cut outs in the TPU case. The TPU inner case is firmly attached to the padded leather cover which protects the front and back of the ipad The leather cover opens like a book in portrait mode, and folds to act as a stand in landscape mode. The top, bottom, and right hand edges of the ipad are protected from impact by the soft TPU material of the inner case, as well as the padded leather cover, which extends about 2 mm beyond the edge of the inner case, and will therefore absorb some of the shock of an impact even before the TPU inner case comes in contact with the floor. The leather cover does not protect the left hand edge of the ipad when it is open, but the soft compressible TPU pencil holder resides along the left edge of the inner case, and this provides additional cushion against impact for the left edge. In fact, that additional protection for the left edge is part of the reason that I bought this particular case. There is a small magnet in the top right corner of the leather cover which activates the sleep/wake function of the ipad. It does this very reliably, however, this magnet is not strong enough to hold the cover closed by itself. The cover will remain closed for light use around the house, e.g. setting it down on a table or nightstand, but if I take it anywhere out of the house, I use the elastic strap to hold the cover closed. I bought the mini primarily to use as an ebook reader, and for reading internet articles off line when on an airplane, etc. The mini with the case is about the same size and weight as a small hard back book, and it is absolutely ideal for reading ebooks. I originally thought that I would be holding it in portrait mode, as you normally hold a printed book, with the cover in my left hand and the ipad itself in my right hand. However, I quickly found that I prefer to fold the cover all the way around to the back where I use the elastic strap to hold it snugly in place. In this configuration, I can hold it firmly in my left hand with my left thumb wrapped over the pencil holder on the left edge of the inner case. Since the pencil holder extends 1.3 cm out from the left edge of the ipad, this greatly reduces the risk of inadvertently touching the left edge of the screen, and thereby accidentally turning back one page. This is an unexpected but much appreciated benefit. When reading web pages I use both portrait mode and landscape mode. When the case is folded to act as a stand in landscape mode it is very stable and has no tendency to collapse when tapping on the screen. Typing on the virtual keyboard can be done in either portrait mode or landscape mode, but it is easier in the latter. For any extended typing I lay it flat on a table because, when the case is folded up as a stand, I find the angle inconvenient for typing. It is important to note that, when laying it flat on a table, it is a good idea to leave it opened like a book, rather than folding the front cover around to the back. The reason is that the inside of the front cover, which contacts the screen when closed, would be in contact with the table if it were folded all the way around to the back, so it might pick up small bits of debris from the table surface which then might scratch the screen when the cover is closed. The padded leather cover is not as stiff as a typical hardback book; the stiffness is more comparable to very stiff cardboard. Consequently it can be bent and deformed with firm finger pressure. If this should happen you can always bend it back into shape, but it is not clear how many times this could be done before producing permanent distortion. The expected lifetime for the case obviously depends on the way it is used, but the construction is not flimsy at all; I expect several years of use before it needs to be replaced.

great cover for the iPad mini
I must say that i was very impressed with the quality and feel of this iPad cover, the ease of use and the protection it provides. But after several months of using, when I stand the iPad in landscape it’s not as sturdy any more and the screen starts lo slowly lie down. otherwise I love it and it’s still looking new after 4 months

Great product!
I bought this case for my husbands new iPad Mini. The iPad fits snugly and the cover opens and closes easily and stays closed when it's not being used. It easily adjusts to various viewing angles and stays in place. My husband loves red so was very happy with the color, but i will say the Red is a very bright primary red. Overall we are very happy with the purchase!

Good quality for the price!
Just bought a new mini i-Pad and needed to get a cover for it that looked professional and was durable. This cover with the pencil holder is great. The wallet pocket on the outside is an extra that is good for keeping organized.

A very well thought out design.
Very nice design—compact and lighter weight than most. The interior compartment for holding the iPad is flexible and sturdy. (I like being able to take my iPad in and out of the cover when I’m reading for a long time so that my wrist does get tired.) Also, the pencil holder is well done and not just an added on loop.
