Leadership: Theory and Practice, 7th Edition

Bought this book for a grad level college course and will be keeping for reference. Northouse does a wonderful job of breaking down various leadership styles and methods for those who are trying to find their own leadership style. My leadership style presented itself in Chapter 10. I would recommend this book for anyone wanting to know about leadership styles and how they can be applied in the workplace. Excellent learning and reference text.

This is the one college textbook I actually read and learned so much from! A very easy read with relatable case studies and experiences. Also includes helpful self-assessments for the reader to hone in on their own leadership style.

I had to buy this book for a class. I had not studied leadership formally in the past so I didn't have many points of reference, but this seems like a pretty comprehensive and well-written book. Each chapter covers a different approach to leadership and ends with some case studies and a survey that the reader can take. This is an academic approach to leadership and not a gimmicky self-help type book.

I rented this book for my Effective Leadership class at DePaul University... I've decided to pay the $55 extra dollars and keep it. It's a really good book, it's well written, it has great case studies to apply what you've learned, and I think it will help me to frame my thoughts and plans in the future. If you rent it you might decide to just buy it

This book was required by my Professor at Columbia University for my leadership course. The book can be used for the real world as it possesses knowledge that is current, practical, honest, real and fluid in today’s society. I even refer to it now in my real world experiences of leadership!

Great reading...Easy to follow. The only downside to the book was that the book did not stay together. Once I reached the middle of the book, it split and I was always worried I was going to lose pages. Luckily it was a rental and I got to return it.

For a class; has an extensive bibliography useful for continuing research in this topic. Northouse gives clear and concise commentary about several leadership theories.

The book itself has all the informations I need in my course. I recommended it with my fellow student.
