Romantic Movies I Watch More than Once.
Very well acted and interesting story lines. Close your eyes for the brief bedroom scenes that are shown. These movies were recorded before HD photography was around but these are worth seeing anyway if you like romantic types of movies.

Great chick flix!
Harlequin has outdone itself. I love their books and turning those books into movies has proven to be quite enjoyable entertainment. OK so they are primarily chic flix, but full of adventure, mystery, and of course lots of romance. Nothing better any night than a good glass of wine and a Harleqin movie. Rick Springfield is dreamy and Emma Samms and Bruce Greenwood sizzle with unmistakeable chemistry. Surprisingly "Another Woman" was one of my favorites and "Broken Lullaby" was worth watching more than once. You won't go wrong with this Volume 1 of Harlequin movies.

Disc had wrong movies.
The DVD case received was correct and unopened. The disc inside the case has 4 Harlequin movies, but not the same as advertised on the case. I have “ A Change of Place”, “ Broken Lullaby “, Recipe for Revenge “ , and “So Hard to Forget “. I wanted this DVD for 3 movies. One of those three was “A Change of Place” which I love, so I was okay with that. The other two that I really wanted were “Treacherous Beauties “ and “Another Woman” so I am disappointed not to have those. I watched “Hard to Forget “ and it was good, but it should be rated R for a nude love scene; wasn’t expecting that! Haven’t finished watching “Broken Lullaby “, but it has been really good so far. Tempted to buy again to see if I could get the correct 4 movies, but don’t want to get another wrong disc.

Cheesy Fun!
Don't expect Academy-award level acting, but this is totally entertaining escapist fare from the '80s. I watched them with my sister up in Canada, where they must have been filmed. If you like romance novels or soap operas and appreciate having all your expectations filled--the good rewarded, the bad punished, the lovers united--you'll enjoy these films. And it will take you back, if you lived through the '80s. The casts are all recognizable, mostly from TV series.

Four romances for the cost of one. Recommended!!
What a fabulous deal! Four movies for the cost of one. If you love romances- this is for you!"Another Woman" is what inspired me to buy the set. I saw it years ago on TV and I loved it. Watching it again was well worth the cost. What an amazing movie! It's based on Another Woman (Harlequin Super Romance, No 558) by Margot Dalton and is about a woman who comes to in a hospital, with amnesia, and has to come to grips with life not knowing who she is. Her husband and sister-in-law treat her with disdain and it doesn't take her long to figure out that she might not have liked the woman she used to be. Rebuilding her relationships is a process that takes time. This beautiful movie always makes me cry too- it's a lovely tale of second chances and redemption and healing. I love all of the characters!! 5 Stars"A Change of Place" is based on Change of Place by Tracy Sinclair. It was, by far, my favorite of the films next to "Another Woman." It was fun to watch!! And more than a romance, it was a tale of sister love and family as well. It was cleverly done- based on the concept that two twins trade places for a month. A bookish PHd art student with her famous sister who is a party animal model. When her the model needs to go to rehab, her studious sister takes her place in Paris. Sounds a little out-there but was pulled off with surprising charm. Toss in a romance between the studious sister and her stumped employer/investor and wala, a cute and winning romance. I really enjoyed it and will watch again. 4 Stars"Treacherous Beauties" is based on Treacherous Beauties by Cheryl Emerson. This was a fairly good film and well worth watching at least once. I had a hard time accepting the premise and follow through. In this tale, a woman who is a journalist is investigating her brother's murder and insinuates herself into the lives of the family she believes may be connected or even responsible. It's pretty much a who-done-it tale with a chancy romance thrown in. The "villain" was pretty obvious immediately, however, and so the mystery wasn't too much fun. Also, the relationship between the hero and heroine seemed based more on chemistry than knowledge of each other. 3 Stars"Broken Lullaby" is based on the Harlequin Intrigue (no 191) of the same name, by Laurel Pace. Of the four films, this was by far my least favorite. Towards the end I had to pause the movie for something and I just never went back, if that makes sense. The story was about a genealogist who is investigating her own families history. And it connects with a Faberge egg which is worth millions- thus attracting attention from people who want to get their hands on the egg first. The problem wasn't the plot so much as the actors. Mel Harris played a stiff, plain and listless woman who was hardly agreeable or likable. The man who played her love interest just seemed immature to me and equally unlikable. The acting seemed wooden and awkward. 1 StarOverall, two stellar movies, one pretty good one and one stinker. Not bad for $10!! I highly recommend this set. Oh and no worries about the reviewers concerned with not getting the movies- it comes with two DVDs and there is one movie on each side.

Misleading product
The items on the case are NOT the ones on the disk. The movies that are on the disk include:Hard to Forget, Recipe for Revenge, A Change of Place, and Broken Lullaby. The manufacturer needs to straighten this out.

Nice light entertainment.
I was pleasantly surprised by these Harlequin movies: good romances, good light mysteries, good price. Just the thing to unwind with after a stressful day, and I ended up buying all 3 volumes. I wish they'd make more, in fact.
