It's a generic quartz clock movement, with the added pendulum feature, which is strictly decorative, not a functional pendulum that's driving the clock - - the clock is driving the pendulum. It functions well. My only issue was that the hands were way too long for the clock it went into, but a little creative trimming made it work (the old hands used a different fastening method and just didn't fit.) The hands are soft aluminum and can be easily cut with a decent pair of scissors.UPDATE: Movement failed completely in slightly less than two months' use. 30-day window to return it... didn't see that when I ordered it. Won't be buying any more of these.

Item worked perfectly, only issue was the minute and second hands were a bit too long and needed trimming.

I ordered this to replace an old worn out movement in an antique clock. It took all of 15 minutes to install and really adds a touch of class to the clock. The second hand is a really cool improvement. The old movement didn't have that. It's been running for about 48 hours now and is keeping time perfectly. The hands are well made and look great. If you need a new movement, this is a great option.

Bought this to replace a quartz pendulum movement for a clock I made.Please be sure to check the clearance you have between the clock face and the inside surface of the glass door in front of the clock face compared to the movement (remembering to subtract the thickness of the clock face from the movement length!)This movement does not include a pendulum (which was fine for me - I already have one).The hands provided were a little long for my clock face. If necessary I could have easily trimmed them to length - I ended up using the original hands which fit well on the new movement.The movement does have a second hand function, which I really did not need - there is a brass button that presses into the end of the movement if you don't use the second hand to improve the look. (the brass button in my kit was already installed on the second hand, but comes off readily.)NO chimes or fake "tick" noise, which I did not want anyway.I installed it 3 days ago - took less than 15 minutes - Instructions are adequate - and the clock has been keeping excellent time since than.. Quartz movements are by definition accurate, but its always nice to confirm that its so.Happy with the choice - would definitely recommend it for a replacement of an existing movement if the length of the spindle works for you.

I am well-versed in messing around with these cheap movement kits. If this little clock wasn't a keepsake, it would be in the trash. I have a bin of movements, hands and the bits and pieces it takes to keep one of these running. As it turned out, though, none of my pendulum movements had a pair of hands that would fit the spindle setup. This was not originally a pendulum clock but I thought I'd go ahead and "cuten" it up a bit. I was excited to see movements that came with a variety of hands--a variety of sizes and styles, but my enthusiasm ended when I saw that no pendulum kit had that option. The only reason I ordered this kit in particular is because it could be here faster than any other. It arrived today. The write-up gave the hand lengths--but when I assembled it, they looked ridiculous. I dumped out probably 100 loose hands--trying to pair them up. If the hour hand fit, the minute hand wouldn't. Finally, I had to cover a hole, put glue on it, let it dry then redrill it to fit the spindle. A second hand fit on but ticked in place; and as it looks right now, the hour hand does not seem to be doing its slow creep as the minute hand moves. I'm expecting more work tomorrow morning when I find the minute hand has spun all night but the hour hand stays put. On cheap little movements like this, it seems illogical that one pair of hands is included--like offering one model of side mirror for every possible car. Had I not repaired dozens of these junky little things, the clock and the new movement would have been s++t-canned.

Bought this in January, it’s now May and losing 10 minutes a day. Disappointed.
