Re: Recent Purchase...
The requested product has arrived this morning and I'm going to have to test it out. I opened the box and unscrewed the back door where the batteries are located only to discover there was already four batteries inside, and one of these batteries is corroded with dried up acid exposed. Shall replace with new and test to see how it functions.

Very good, inexpensive fun
I had purchased the Jakks Pacific Pac Man TV game and thought it was good so also being a fan of Space Invaders, I figured Jakks Space Invaders would be a good TV game as well. The controller is as as I expected with the Pac Man version that I have. Durable, well made joystick and buttons work well. The graphics seem to be a bit clearer than those on the Jakks Pac Man game. There is a variety of Taito games, many I have not played before, so I am just getting to play them for the first time. Bubble Bubble and the Legend of Kage are games that I started to enjoy. The version of Space Invaders seems to be the same as the original as far as spacing between the invaders. After reviewing the Radica Space Invaders plug and play game, I found that the invaders were spaced farther apart and different than the original. However, even though the Jakks version looks more like the original the invaders move faster and shoot more often than I remembered from the arcade game. Of course, I played a lot of Space Invaders on my Atari 2600 back in the day, so maybe I am a bit used to having used an easier difficulty level. The version for Nintendo Wii Virtual games is a little bit easier as well and lets you choose options. Unfortunately, this game has no options for difficulty level or amount of ships you can have. You start out with 3 ships and gain a new ship every 1000 points. I barely can get to 2000 points on this game. Maybe I just need to get back into practice. :-)

my husband i really loved playing this game but then right after the warranty ...
my husband i really loved playing this game but then right after the warranty timeframe was up (ironically) we were playing and ZAP something happened and it stopped working. i tried all basic troubleshooting - batteries, tv, etc. and it's the game that died. unfortunately, as i just missed the window of time to return it, i cannot get an exchange or refund. i'm tempted to buy another, but have decided not to, as it seems like the plug and plays stop working sometimes conveniently after the warranty period is over. i do enjoy the old games though.

Space Invaders TV Game
Love this game, brings back old memories that I can share with my son. I just wish it had Pac Man on it too.

FUN!
I (and my sister) absolutely LOVE this game! The only issues are that after playing for a couple of hours each weekend, it began to do some strange things. During play it's as though your "man" has a mind of its own and glides across the game surface when it shouldn't causing you to lose control of play. Not cool. Otherwise we totally enjoy it.

Prttey good reproduction. Sound levels vary game to game and cables need to be longer.
I loved Space Invaders when I was a kid and always yearned for a real arcade game in my basement. I can't afford that yet, so I thought this would be a good substitute. I didn't recognize the other games that came with it, but Legend iof Kage seems pretty good. The Space Invaders sound levels are lower than the other games; I don't know why. I always have to turn up the volume when I play that game. The reproduction of the original seems pretty good, but I can't exactly remember how it was back in the day. Pretty good game for the money, though. I wish the RCA cables were longer so I could sit further away from the TV.
