FIRST NATURE3051 Hummingbird Feeder, 16-Ounce (6 Pack, Red)

Make sure you get the newest version - with Bee & Wasp guard, slots instead of holes.
Make sure you get the new version!! The old version with 1 hole at each port has been replaced with 2 narrow slots at each port. I a problem, lots of bees to the point of clearly disrupting the Hummingbirds feeding. Today, 8/17/16, W**M**t sells a newer version of this First Nature feeder and it has, at each feeding port, narrow straight slots instead of a big hole for the H-bird to get at the nectar... works great - H-birds love it, the bees moved on! Look for UPC Code # 039256830581. Cost $3.67 each, bought 3 and threw away old versions! Make sure it's the updated version of this feeder.

but overall they are the best I have found
I have gone through a whole boatload of hummer feeders over the years and have finally settled on just buying these. I could suggest a couple improvements, but overall they are the best I have found. I would prefer a glass carafe and it would be nice if the hook design was collapseable so as to allow you to stand it on the counter. The upside though, and it's a big upside, is that they are extremely easy to clean which is so important given the fact that any black mold residue can cause serious illness and death in the little birds. The birds also love this feeder and even our Orioles can feed from them. I prefer this smaller size since I change the food very often so as to avoid the growth of mold. The price is great too. I have wasted a lot of money on other feeders, so I hope this helps you avoid that scenario.

Best hummingbird feeder
This is the best hummingbird feeder- I would only rated it less because of the flimsy, hard to use hook it comes with (I just change it out) I was first able to buy this feeder locally, but then as usual, First Nature had to 'change' the feeder design, making it much harder to clean. So I was very happy to find these still on Amazon. The wide-mouth reservoir unscrews from the bottom so is very easy to clean. The base 'top' easily twists off the bottom, so both can be scrubbed easily. Being able to thoroughly clean a hummingbird feeder should be one of the main reasons for purchasing a feeder- there are so many out there that can't be taken apart to clean and will soon be filled with mold. My hummers here in California readily use the feeder and I've never had trouble with bees trying to use it. (remember if the hummers don't empty the feed in a few days, you should dump the remaining nectar, wash the feeder and refill. Only use small amounts of nectar if need be.) I've had some of my feeders for over 5 years and are holding up great! OH! the ports on this feeder are large enough for my local Bullock's and Hooded Orioles to use also, so I don't have to put out some hard-to-clean oriole feeder. Highly recommend this feeder!

Makes for Happy Birds
I live in a suburban area of Washington State, and hummingbirds are year-round residents. I have about dozen feeders, and it is a constant battle to keep the little terrorists in sugar-water. I added a pair of these feeders to the mix, and so far am happy with them.=== The Good Stuff ===* First things first. The birds like them. Our birds are a little finnicky about their feeders, and will not take food from the cheap plastic feeders from the dollar store- I assume there is something about the smell of the plastic that they don't like. I avoid glass feeders because of the danger of breakage during wind storms, so all our feeders are plastic. The hummers accepted these feeders from day one.* The base unscrews from the reservoir, and the base will separate into two pieces for cleaning. I usually clean and disinfect our feeders every month or two, and these have been easy to clean. The feeders have not leaked, and have not managed to disassemble themselves while in use.* There is a little ant trap reservoir underneath the hook, although this usually dries out faster in the summer than I can manage to fill it, and the ants usually stage a couple successful attacks during the year. A little "tanglefoot" applied to the hook helps with that, with the added bonus that some of our hummers like the occasional ant snack. I don't even bother worrying about whether the feeders are wasp proof, because -at least in this part of the country, there is no such thing as wasp proof. The best you can do is keep a number of wasp traps near the feeders, and hose them off regularly.=== The Not-So-Good Stuff ===* The biggest problem is the reservoir size. I have other feeders that have twice the capacity (or more), and during heavy feeding seasons, the local birds can empty this thing in a day or two.=== Summary ===The birds are happy with these feeders (and they couldn't care less if there are yellow flowers or not). They recognize the feeders as soon as they see them, I wish they had a bigger reservoir, but such is life. They have been out during some freezing weather, and have made it through freeze/thaw cycles with no problems. (We have year round hummingbird residents). The small reservoir is a mixed bag in winter- it freezes quicker, but takes less time in the house to thaw out.

Bees love it!
I purchased this hummingbird feeder because it was NOT supposed to attract bees because it did not have the yellow "flowers" found in most feeders. Bees have been swarming my old feeder and actually attacking the hummingbirds who try to feed! I hung this one up yesterday, and it was immediately covered with bees! I thought they might just be hopeful of getting a meal since I hung it in the same place as my old feeder, but they are still there today, and half of my nectar is gone already! I just hope that the birds can get at it at some point!

Very Disappointing
Wanted this to work, but has several killer problems:1. Whated the slit style feeder but received the large oval hole style that attracts bees by the dozens. Should be marketed a BEE feeder, not hummer feeder!2. Should be easy to clean-absolutely not! Be aware that hand washing with even moderately warm water WILL DEFORM THE RESERVOIR and the top cap will no longer fit for hanging!3. Leaks in the slightest breeze.4. Difficult to determine if empty due to the large hidden capacity in the base.

Excellent value for money, and the sunbirds love it
No dislikes. It works well and the birds love it. One part sugar to four parts water. My only complaint would be that I am having to refill this every day as they enjoy it so much. To be more accurate, I have to refill two feeders every day as the second one is also emptied by them, but they are lovely birds!

LOOK NO FURTHER!!!
This feeder is AMAZING!! Exactly as advertised and no joke, huge magnet for humming birds! I put mine out with food and with in 5 minutes saw 8 humming birds. They just flock to it! Took a great video in slow mo of it in action. Highly recommend this product! Saw another 15 today, as they keep coming! All day we hear them buzzing around it, feeding.

Love it.......as do my Hummers and Orioles
My humming birds and my orioles and downy woodpeckers love this feeder. The hummers were using it after only being up for a few minutes. (but I can never get a pic cause they don't sit long enough....hence the oriole pic) Ordered this and it was here in two days!!! Is a really good size at 16 oz. The way it cleans up is a breeze. Don't really need bigger than this because I change out the water every two weeks anyway. Thanks for fast service!!!

overall great
The only thing I found was a problem is when wasp season arrives, they love the feeder. The holes are big enough for the wasps or yellow jackets to actually get into the feeder and the don't get out. If the port holes were a bit smaller that would be better. Easy to clean birds love it.

The hummies loved it!!
The feeder provides easy access to the food, with the hummers seemingly appreciating being able to sit on the broad base while they fed. There was no issue with leaking, and the cistern was easy to fill. The broader base does catch snow, plugging the feeding holes, but I partially remedied that by rigging up an aluminum pie plate as a "hat." The structure of the feeding holes seemed to prevent other birds getting access to the liquid, but was no issue to the hummers. Since it was only put up in the fall, I do not know if wasps will be attracted to it. The cistern (and the whole feeder) is plastic, and I don't know how well the unit would withstand freezing. Overall, I was pleased with this feeder, and would buy again if I need another..

humming birds love the 8 ports
This compact feeds holds 2 cups (500ml) of nectar and the hummingbirds just love the 8 ports available to them! The price point of this feeder is incredible. The quality of the product is very very good. It is very easy to clean and to fill with fresh nectar

Wasp magnet
While wasps can’t get into the unit, they certainly try. The openings are too large, whereas the idea is that the hummingbird beak and tongue should only fit. Also: the hook for hanging could be improved to provide a more level balance.

Love this hummingbird feeder!!
We are lucky enough to be able to enjoy the presence of hummingbirds throughout the summer months. We feel deeply that we want to help and not hinder their wellbeing so we have tried various styles of feeders. This one (we now have 8!) is by far the best. Sturdy construction, easy to take apart and clean and the small size of the reservoir ensures the feeder is cleaned often and the juice does not go stale. This is an excellent product that we are thrilled we came across. We would recommend it to anyone who enjoys the crazy antics of our tiny feathered friends!!

Disappointed
Went to wrap for mothers day 2020 and found the most important piece of the feeder is missing (the bottom base ) which seals the feeding tube. How is it possible while packing to ship no one noticed the item was missing it's base? Very disappointed.

Birds like this feeder.
Very functional feeder. The hummingbirds are able to purch on this feeder.Attracts all birds that like juice.Cons:cheap plastic. Won't last more the a few years.Altough it seals well when new, this will not last.Due to this reason it is overpriced.

Hummers Love It!
Liked that the feeder was similar in size to the old one so hummeringbirds hardly noticed the change over. & it is so easy to refill. Package arrived before quoted time in excellent condition. What more could I want. Thanks everyone concerned.

Love it
I don't generally write reviews, however I love this feeder. It is a good size, so easy to fill and clean and the humming birds love it. Where I hang the feeder can get windy, with other feeders they tend to swing so much that the sugar water spills and attracts bees. This one doesn't so yes bees come and light on the feeder but do not stay. I do wonder about the hanging hook however as it seems a bit flimsy and may break easily if it gets too windy. This has not happened yet and only time will tell. In the meantime it is the best feeder I have owned to date and I have tried a few.

Very easy to fill and a great price
Very easy to fill and a great price. I guess it would be nice if it was a little bigger and held a little more liquid but I’m happy to fill it once every few days. It’s one of the best hummingbird feeder’s I have had.

Very good feeder
I really like this feeder. I find that it tends to spill when I'm taking it down to clean but besides that it seems good. I've even seen a hummingbird drink from it which was a happy surprise seeing as I live on the 10th floor downtown in a big city & I wasn't sure they'd come :)
