Paterson Changing Bag 27.5" x 27.5"

Pretty much the standard, default changing bag. No one using film cameras should be without one. Even if you never develop film, should the need arise to remove snarled or damaged film from a camera this beats hiding under a blanket in a closet. I've used these for years. I develop my own film in the kitchen with Patterson processing tanks that let you do the process in room light. But you still need a dark place to load the film into the tanks for processing and these changing bags work perfectly. I've been using these since the 70's. They get the job done and are large enough to handle medium to large format tanks if needed.

Easier than using a dark closet. You zip your film, reel, and developing tank into the bag, and then hide the zipper under a velcro flap. Each armhole has two tightly gathered openings through which your hand passes consecutively to access the film and so forth. One odd thing about the design: Within each armhole, the two gathered openings are connected to each other flimsily at one point by a small number of threads. These threads break easily causing the two gathered openings of each armhole to separate from one another. This doesn't seem to affect the performance, but it's strange that the product ships this way. (?) Nonetheless, if you need to load a developing tank and don't have a light-proof room available, this product is highly recommended.

I like the fact that one of the sealing mechanisms is Velcro and that this changing bag has sufficient internal volume to easily deal with large development tank and 2 rolls of film simultaneously.

It's a changing bag. And it works as it should. This is a double layer and very thick changing bag. This Paterson bag is very genorous in size, so it gives you a lot of space to load your film and accessories. The hand part seems ok, but would not really fit a person with large hands though. I am very happy with this bag. I use it to put integral (instant) film in some big cameras (Polaroid 110B) and Polaroids Land cameras (103, 350, 450 and 180). When you open a Polaroid 110 you know you need a lot of space. Well, this bag is excellent for that. I don't need to do it anymore under the covers of my bed (the darkest place I could find :). I was about to buy a changing tent before this,because I knew I needed something with lot of space, but at $84 it seemed too expensive for just changing film. So I decided to buy this changing bag for just $31 dollars and I am very satisfied with it. And the quality of this bag bag is EXCELLENT.

This is a really sturdy changing bag. The double closure avoids light leaks, as does the slightly fierce elasticated armhole arrangement. It's big enough to get a reasonable-sized daylight tank inside with plenty of room to work. The fabric is thick and it generally inspires confidence. Paterson remain the go-to brand for bits like this.
